This float tube video is Part 2 of the 10 May excursion to an MDC impoundment in Henry County, MO that was suffering terribly with drought until about three weeks ago. Now the impoundment is over full with water (and debris) and over flow from recent heavy rains is still running in to it.
Nonetheless, with Master Outfitter Rudie's help (hahaha) two 4-inch, PB&J, Z-Man lures: Finesse WormZ and Hula StickZ were a great pattern for "Squatting" bass that were holding tight to cover.
All 23 fish caught in Pt 1 and 2 were bass. However, it won't be long before the water settles down and the panfish are swarming all over the banks....can't wait!

Thanks, Sis. I knew the 2IC of the Reaper Team would love seeing your fave PB&J lures doing their "thang". Those Hulus 😅😅😅 have been excellent from day one. These fish haven't really settled down in their old neighborhoods that were wiped out by the drought but are ready for them to move back in. Thanks Bill. For some reason I posted a response to your comment to myself.. don't know how that happens. Yes, the moving water was like a magnet and lots of fish lurked where the current swirled through the rocks and brought tasty PB&J snacks 😅😅😅. Best wishes, Don

Thanks so much Big L. We had 7 rains in the first 15 days of May so it was getting a bit soggy. Nothing as bad as the devastating floods in the SE and Houston area..that was so sad to see. This place is very close so I'll head back down after a while and see what it is doing when the fish have resettled on the banks. Have a blessed week, Don

Thanks Dennis and you are always welcome to float along, especially if the fish are Cooperative 😅😅😅. In this now full aquarium, fishing will only get better. The panfish were totally disoriented but will figure out their old neighborhood pretty soon. The water level rose a whole lot, real fast, so many good days are ahead. Have a blessed week, Don

Thanks and glad you enjoyed the show Hayden. I didn't mention specifics of Texas rigging but basically the way it works is to first cast or drop the lure on target. The weight sinks first and the lure follows behind. If a fish doesn't grab it immediately then slowly lift and scoot the lure a few inches at a time. Sometimes just letting the lure sit on the bottom with the tail floating up and swaying will trigger a strike. Best wishes, Don
