As ex-IDF, I know it was IDF's policy to target & remove high-value persons like doctors, politicians, police officers, lawyers, press officials, to turn Gaza into a NON-LIVEABLE PLACE. The expectation was that Gazans would leave (or die) and Israel can start construction of luxurious real-estate and resort projects (like in the West Bank).

Primarily because Israeli politicians have said all this in one form or another out in the open. So if you as an ex IDF soldier don't know this policy, you really were just following orders and not paying attention to what was going on during your time in the IDF. In any case, I don't really care what you and the IDF do. It's clear the IDF is destroying Israel's future and destroying the lives of Israel civilians. But I'm not Israeli, I'm American. The only thing that matters to me is that my government is not an existential threat to the American people. If you are fine with your government being an existential threat to the Israeli people, good luck with that, I don't want to interfere in the affairs of other countries.

I've met Israelis when I visited Nepal the first two times, and they were the ones who'd just finished their "army" services. And man oh man, they had some weird entitlement to everything. Small examples, if I had Israelis with me in the hostel room, they would shout their words regradless you're sleeping, reading, whatever! They would order waiters to serve them in a demanding tone without a smile. In summary, they were rude and acted like they owned the world. And I met A LOT in that hostel. I met TENS. only 5 or 6 out of more than 30 that I met were actually nice! And maybe 4 of those went to kill Palestinians in the current events. They actually posted pictures of them in their "army custome" with weapons and blood on their clothes!

It was horrific what happened on October 7th 2023. The Festival attendees were literally metres away from people living in squalor and deprivation, existing under apartheid rule. The Jewish settlers are not helping here :-( They are ruled by Hamas and a blockade is fully warranted. Hamas would have even more advanced weapons if there was no blockade. Yes, you are right. It didn't start on October 7th, but somebody has to accept that Israel is here to stay. Sorry I just can't accept your idea, that "we" created Hitler and Stalin. Who are "we". Anybody else "we" created?

It seems disingenuous to only mention the problem with the west's support of Israel, ignoring the lack of willingness of countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia to help the Palestinians only helps bolster hatred and division. We all suck just in different ways. Bassem is great guy from what I've seen out there.

If they take in the Palestinians, that’s what Israel wants: the land without Palestinians to form Greater Israel. Palestinians at the moment aren’t given right of return by Israel. Arab countries are helping with humanitarian aid and trying to broker ceasefire..

Lets be honest. 22 Muslim Arab states possess 99.98% of land in Middle East. These states ethnically cleansed 850,000 Arabic Jews post 1948 on basis they should join their people in Israel. Most were forced to leave with what ever they could carry, went to Israel and were absorbed. So what happened to Arabs forced from Israel? They ended up as refugees in the 22 Muslim Arab League states and were kept as refugees for next 75 years. Btw refugee status also applies to all their offspring. Why? Well Arab League Resolution 1547 of 1959 instructed all Arab League states to deny citizenship to Palestinian Arabs.
