I Caught RARE Fish in a Primitive Fish Trap!

In today's video, I make a primitive fish trap using nothing but sticks to see what CRAZY fish I could catch! I built the trap in a tiny creek that is FILLED with rare aquarium fish and MONSTER fish! After we finished making the primitive style trap, I placed one that we bought next to it to see which one catches the most fish! We then stuck our hands into the mysterious mud holes and caught out CRAZY fish like oscars, cichlids, catfish, and more! We then traveled down the dried up creek and saved as many fish as we could including bichirs, and African cichlids! And once we got to the hidden tunnel we turned on our flashlights to try and find fish... We ended up netting out gouramis, and even an axolotl! We caught so many fish we decided to place another fish trap in the tunnel! We then came back later that night and ended up catching so many fish including eels, knife fish, exotic cichlids, plecos, and more! When it was time to see what the primitive fish trap caught, we were shocked at the MONSTER freshwater pufferfish, axolotls, and mystery fish that we found inside! We brought back all the fish we caught and put them into my backyard ponds and fish tanks! Should we do another primitive fish trap?

Loving the primitive fish trap series ❤ these kinds of traps have been used for so many thousands of years and where I live in Australia we have many amazing examples of permanent fish traps that are at least a few centuries old if not a thousand or two. Pretty cool these things used to feed and sustain whole communities 😊 stay safe out there Bobby and crew ❤

A lot not like just a few I want to see the predator pond go crazy. Also I would like you to gift aquariums to elementary school classes and teach them about invasive sand how we can help not harm.

Good to see you with a cleaner shirt at the start of the video. Lots of bonus points for you. You need to keep the apple snails to feed to the puffer fish. In the wild, puffers mostly eat bivalves such as clams, muscles, and oysters, but they will go after snails when they're present too. They might take shrimp, but if you feed them with large shrimp, you'll end up needing to file their teeth down every now and then or they will get to big and the puffer won't be able to either eat or fully close its mouth. I hope you've been studying up on the snake species in the area. I really really really don't want to see you get bit by something poisonous such as that coral snake that got into your trap a few videos back. To be honest, I don't want to see you get bit by any snake when you're in that water. It would be a guaranteed infection, and likely a really bad one. Congrats on your successful primitive fish trap. Someday you need to build a really big one which stretches the entire width of the stream, with the v-chute opening in the middle of the flow. Then just before you check it, walk down the middle of the stream with a net in one hand and a stick in the other, and chase anything that didn't go in there on its own right on in. If there are many fish in the stream, that trap will be boiling with fish when you reach it. If it crosses the entire stream, you might not even need to bait it. The fish will just go in as part of their natural traveling up or down stream, all depending on which way you have the chute. Actually if you wanted to, you could build a double one, and if you want to reduce the number of fish which get out, have them share a back wall. You could leave the trap for a few days, and when you got back, it would be packed with anything in the creek. Study up on those snakes, and good luck in the future!

That fish you caught in that first hole is a suckermouth fish. That one you said you've never caught before. The spotted fish..im not entirely 100% sure..but here in Tennessee..we have a fish that looks super similar called a spotted green sunfish. That Bichir is Beautiful. They're $50-$70 fish here in the stores all day long. even more depending on color/size, and availability. Y'all have so many fish there in Fla that I swear Ive never seen anywhere. I never even knew what a Ripsaw Cat was till I seen you guys catch them, cause they don't exist here in TN.
