Legendary bassist Ron Carter (Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock) appears on over 2000 recordings. In this episode Mr. Carter talks with fellow Epifani artist KJ (The Oddysy) about working with Q-Tip and A Tribe Called Quest.
Ron Carter agreed to play on Low End Theory, but he had one or two conditions.
This is last of four videos featuring Mr. Carter, shot at his home in New York City during the summer of 2019. At the end KJ ask his bass hero to play a couple of notes. Mr. Carter gives him that and a lot more. This is why he's the most recorded bassist in history. This is why he's the master.

Ron has my ultimate respect. He's one of the reasons why I picked up bass guitar in the first place. When I heard those songs by A Tribe Called Quest on their album entitled The Low End Thoery I was freaking so blown out of the water,

It’s the greatest rap record of all time and the tune Ron played on is one of the best on that recording.

The mic placement in this interview possibly speaks to who the interviewer is focusing on - good mic next to interviewer, can hear him clearly; Ron Carter - no mic, sounds like he's speaking through a potato.
