Frank could play anything, even a broom, and it would sound killer! He is such a fantastic bass player and a very humble person, truly an inspiration! \m/

The entire Yamaha BB series is absolutely WONDERFUL! I gravitate toward inexpensive instruments, I love getting great tone out of them, without worrying about getting any dings or scratches.

They need to re-make BBGs ! That bass sound phenomenal. Jack Gibson from Exodus plays them as well

I bought a used BBg4 a few weeks ago . An amazing passive Jazz bass with great construction quality for the 200 € I paid for it ! Love it !

I still got BBG4 which I've bought in late 90's and used it until 2019. It's here next to me, passive but great.

In my opinion much nicer even stock than the RBX and newer TRBX series basses. There's something special about the simplicity of those older Yamahas :-) Great brand 🔥

I always wondered if those basses were the BBG line. I've got a BBG4A2 and its hands down the nicest looking bass I've ever seen in person and top 5 in playability. They are getting harder and harder to find nowadays but one day I'll have a five string in off white like Frank.

I just bought a Sterling Stingray SS-4 Bass ( $549 ) - I tried out many brands of bass guitars, and liked that one the best. The fit, finish, sound & playability exceeded my expectations. Always Enjoy your playing and channel content. I subscribed. oNe LovE from NYC

I have two BBG5A's in the same color. One is getting a Richlite fretless fingerboard. Greatly underrated basses.

watching now the humble, quiet musician Frank Itt, I came up with the idea to suggest to Tibo to make a show with his presenters: Rene Flehzenhaar, Frank Itt and Lars Lehmann. it would be interesting to meet these great musicians-bassists ...

Frank is a great player. And Yamaha basses are totally underrated. You barely here anything about them. I have one question: which strings does Frank use? Stings have always such a big impact on the sound, so I would love to know.

ive had the same blue BBG5s as Frank since 1998, around 2004 I had my local Bass Doc pop a MM bucker and a P 5 in there and I later added a Duncan 3 band, and shes been that way ever since, still gets played though i have more basses now.

My first bass was a BB-G5 (without S, so passive and with that cheesy foto flame top in transparent blue) which I bought over 25 years ago. I loved it, it was my main (and only) bass for 15 years and I still have it as a backup bass for my Clover Apeiron H.5. And because it's my first bass, I'll never sell it! I have so many memories with it. I agree that it plays great and sounds pretty good, only the pickups don't have a lot of character. I love the neck and the wide string spacing.

I just found a near-mint BBG4S 2 and can barely find any info online about it. I was wanting to see if anyone here had any info on them....(It's the 46th model ever made, which was January 1991, based on the serial numbers)

Interesting. Couldn't see but presumably the 6 string pickup pole pieces are either side of the strings like on the MM "Old Smoothie" Stingray, rather than directly under. Does this also make a warmer tone on the Yamaha?
