The East Japan Railway connects Tokyo city with other major districts with a wide variety of core lines, and many of the current generation of trains on those lines use IGBT with GTO having been phased out from their fleet. One of these trains is the E235 Series plying the Yamanote Line which use Mitsubishi SIC Mosfet motors that sound like the R151s with the signature hissing sound, and at high speed a strong robotic hum is heard similar to those that were on 219/220 and 207/208, together with a high pitched whine on acceleration and deceleration

At the moment 827/828 has come back after being grounded for a week at the end of April to patch up all the monstrous flatwheels, pleased and sad that it has now been fixed whereas some other R151s have flatwheels that are getting worse, for instance 831/832 throughout 12832 and 11832, or 825/826 at 12825-12826 gangway. Honestly I really think those new trains should have been manufactured with the type of wheels with the kind of shape used on the KSFs, which seemingly do not easily get a lot of dents and also they otherwise bang hard on a track dent when departing JUR F creating quite an irritating assonance which has been there a while now, I just wish they eventually decide to replace the rails as a whole itself

I kinda think that the C151A is having a one step brake for the first time in 2024
