I'm just here from Critical Role for Marisha Ray. :)

From what little I've been able to catch up on in the comics, I completely agreed to your opinion and expertise. I can only assume they are using some liberties to establish all that "maturing" into one episode to make it easier on those of us that were a little more lost. I'm excited to see more.

With all due respect I suspect many of us don't give a crap about all these interviews, costumes designs, teasers, etc. It's padding at best and self congratulation at worst. The series is awesome we get it. That's why we keep coming back.

Great series, I like seeing the behind scene stuff and commentary's a nice too. By the way I think gag reels are awesome. It sounds like you have the series all written out cant wait too see what happens

Very illuminating commentary, gave me a good insight into what you guys are going through to make this film. Only wish the episode was longer so you could say more.

This was really well done. I didn't pay much attention to the Stephanie Brown character until i watched this and now she's one of my favorite characters. I am curious however why did you go for her and not some of the more "well known" bat characters like Nightwing?
@CrisKamurai11 жыл бұрын
As long as they don't over do it, or hyperfocus on it, that scene could be a powerful creative tool. Not only does it make various statements about both evil men, rape itself, and women in prominent positions, but it can be used to help create an identify for Steph; even have her use it to kept her non-Batgirl life less social and concentrate on being a better Batgirl. Unless they're following a strict comicbook story, there are many more options available that simple injury wouldn't allow.
@CrisKamurai11 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I don't think enough people understand the point of using that tool, or its statements. Definitely worthy of clarification by the creators.

But I have a whole bag of stone here? Fuckin', what do I do now?
@batvon3911 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the commentary! But I think you guys should've taken this opportunity to talk about the attempted rape scene. I didn't have a huge problem with it, but I think it was worthy of some discussion from you guys after seeing such a controversial response.

The main issue i have with it here is that when Steph was Spoiler, she suffered much abuse and punishment which helped mold her into a much stronger Batgirl. As established by Bryan Q. Miller in those great comics, this Batgirl is Steph who has greatly matured, learned from all her mistakes and vastly improved all her skills. The ending doesn't really reflect Steph's Batgirl, which is another main reason why I have such a problem with the scene.

Agreed. I want to see more episodes. Not more "extras". ;-)

Why is it taking so long for episode 2 to be released? Has the principle photography been completed, or even started yet?

marisha you probably won't see this but i love the suit and i love how you portrayed Stephanie but my question would be are you guys going to include the tim drake and if so will there be a relationship between them?

Will we see Dick, Bruce, Tim, or Damian or is this going to be a Gotham Girls/Birds of Prey type story?
@MrDCWood11 жыл бұрын
Perhaps. The problem for me is that - aside from being a very sensitive issue - it's a very difficult topic to use. In some cases, if done with purpose and if it suits the story's dark tone - then it can be used effectively. Case in point, Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do. However, in other cases, I've seen it portrayed without any real need and just for cheap shock value.

i hope so.

Never heard of constructive criticism, eh? I'm speaking as a writer myself and a fan who nonetheless enjoyed this production. I'm entitled to voice my honest opinions as much as you are. If I have caused offense than I apologize. Let's not throw stones or exchange insults, ok?

Ya know, it wouldnt be a bad idea to make a 2nd episode sometime, I mean I'm just saying, since you're gonna call it a series and all.

I apologise for my comments. In the past, I've had to deal with folk who take the rip for no real reason. Rest assured I can take a joke, and for the record I don't believe in talking shit, and only do so when various trolls are relentless in cyber-bullying. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish those who are having a laugh with those who senselessly believe in spite online. I overreacted and to you, I am sorry. Peace, mate?
@MrDCWood11 жыл бұрын
Very good commentary, guys! Excellent in fact! Superbly engaging & insightful narrative to a well-produced pilot. Can understand your reasoning for the very dark ending but I think there were better ways to achieve that than the (frankly disgusting) attempted rape. A crippling injury or severe beatdown would've been more effective. And I felt Steph's recklessness here is more akin to Spoiler than her more-mature and learned Batgirl. Still, great stuff. Looking forward to ep 2!

Wait. So you trained for a year and a half and paid THAT much? How are you funding this if you're non-profit? I appreciate it, but I'm very curious about that

This is amazing. I loved the movie. Batgirl never looked sexier. I think you guys should cut away from footage and show yourselves once and a while.

Jeezus bro. I was joking. You need to chill. It's a webseries, not the election.
@ichaos11 жыл бұрын
For crying outloud post episode 2 before making a commentary. Are you guys shooting one episode at a time or shooting the normal hollywood style? For a series like this you pretty much need to shoot out of order.
@bigjavo3611 жыл бұрын
why didnt you address someone of the concerns raised in the comments of episode one? I was expecting you guys to talk about the rape thing and maybe shed some light on why you guys made that choice. now we are left to just assume you guys just put it in there to be "edgy" and that unfortunate at best.
@Arbitor111 жыл бұрын
You guys really needed to address the attempted rape. Like REALLY should have, comics attempts rape way too often and it never works right and here it did not either. I hope you guys do address it later. I do think you guys did a good job otherwise, the costumes and look of the city and setting work. The acting isn't dopy but you guys do have one HUGE blemish.
