Hi everyone,
Welcome to my first long form video 🎉
It shows the bath time of my Sister Cindy, the 29 year old rescue baboon 👵
She has a bath a few times a year to help keep her fresh and she always loves the experience and pampering 💅🏻
This is the first one she has had since she went blind in November 2023, so me and my Mother help guide her into the bathroom and get her in the tub.

*None of the animals featured on this channel are pets, they all live a natural life outside (no cages or captivity) where they feed on natural food around our farmstead just like it should be 👍

The fact that dear Cindy always wants to be in contact with Ruben is so precious, especially her reaching for his touch at the end. What an amazing career amid glorious nature and wonderful animals, though still, at the end, Cindy shows she's still the matriarch elder in charge!, haha.

She is a beautiful, elderly lady! Thank you for taking such good care of her. As you take care of God’s creatures, so are you likely to care for your own brothers and sisters. I pray when her time comes that she goes peacefully, as I pray that I also go peacefully.

She is such is a very awesome baboon. I was watching baboons breaking into people's homes and making huge mess, and looking for food.

Baboons can often be seen as pests in the wild, and Cindy was also naughty when she was younger haha, but she grew out of it to become a civilised lady haha

I really enjoyed this video Ruben. Your Mum is so pretty. I especially enjoyed the first video I saw when you explained about how Cindy came to be in the care of your family and how naughty she was. Your Mum must have had such patience! It will indeed be a very sad day when Cindy passes, but she will have had the most special life and we will all remember that.

From taking care of many elderly humans, I can tell you that they love sweets. As we age we loose the ability to taste salt, bitterness and such. But tasting sweets is the last thing to go. I bet it is the same with Baboons.

@@Rubennamibia The same as in nursing homes. If you can imagine not being able to taste very much except sweets, it makes sense that you would crave that flavor you can still taste. My father hated sweet tea and never drank it his entire life. I was shocked when he ordered sweet tea at the nursing home he was at! But he could taste the sweetness, and enjoyed it. God bless Cindy. People around the world love her, but especially you.

Would she ride in something that was low and on wheels that you didn't have to lift her onto so she wouldn't have to walk as far or maybe have a tub outside? We have Rubbermaid troughs in different sizes we can use for our horses and they have a drain and are quite lightweight so they can be moved and stored easily. Maybe something like one of those would work. Cindy is so beautiful and you and your Mom are such good and patient carers. I know that she is still a wild animal and I imagine still very strong and that she can be aggressive at times, but it is easy to tell that she considers you her family group and feels secure with you both. Thank you so much for sharing.

Ah yes, it’s very obvious that she is an animal who has become stiffer with age, and probably tires quickly too. But it’s great to see her family encouraging her to move around under her own steam, keeping her mobile ❤

She can't see so what y'all need to do is when walking, keep your leg against her so she knows where to go. I had a blind dog and that's how she would get around. It's like you close your eyes and someone is hollering for you and you can't see so you're afraid to move, same with her. That's what I would do. Y'all do a very good job with her❤️

Thank you! Since she became blind, she responds very well to getting food and also to our voices and sounds we make to help guide her. She gets a bit grumpy if we are too close to her all the time haha

She must be able to see a little because she saw the bug one day to move it. It looks like she has cataract. Poor girl, but she obviously has been cared for excellently.
