❓️❓️❓️❓️❓️❓️ Do you find it weird that there are guys that complain about the sound quality of different formats and vinyl variants, yet complain if something sounds too polished or good❓️ To me, it's almost like saying, "I want to eat shit but I want it to be the best turd I can get!" I agree some things can be too over polished or sound like crap but I feel there's a large middle ground there. My ears don't work well enough to be an audiophile. 🤣

Hammer Heart, Twilight of the Gods, Blood on Ice, and Nordland 1 and 2 are all very good in my book. I love the majestic pagan, wintery feel and epic lyrics. Definitely not for people with adhd. Viking Bathory is more of a relaxing scotch on a cold winter night type listen.

Hey it's great seeing Haemorraghe getting some love. They totally deserve it, saw them live many times since their early days; always killed it. Good guys too! Other gore grind bands from Spain that deserve recognition are Gruesome stuff relish and Machetazo.

Question: In 2014, HHR signed Demonic Christ. What happened with this band and why did we not see their second album?

Morbid Saint already started to change their sound / approach to song writing on their 2nd album 'Destruction System' in '92.

After Twilight, I kind of fell off. Though there is some good shit that came out after that album that I've heard. I just don't own any of those albums. If I ranked the ones I own, it'd go Under the Sign of the Black Mark, Blood Fire Death, Bathory, The Return, Hammerheart, then Twilight of the Gods. On another note, I was watching an older video of yours and saw you bring up Divine Empire! Fuck yeah, man! I bought the Redemption CD on a whim in like, 2000, I think? Not too long after it came out. I was blown away. I did not think it'd be that fucking good. I didn't know HHR released it on vinyl. I immediately ordered one yesterday. You never hear anyone talk about that album. Anyone who hasn't heard it, you're missing out, man. If you're into death metal, you will love it. You guys at HHR are indeed ACTUAL FANS of this music. What other label would release that album on vinyl??? No one, to my knowledge. Hail HHR! And best goregrind? I'd have to go with Exhumed's early stuff. It's really my introduction to that style. Of course, Carcass as well. I also think Neocriticism is a damn great album. They did go more death metal, but it still kicks ass.

?????Question J Dawg????? Since we've answered what states have the best metal scenes, which states do you think have the worst metal scenes? I live in Mississippi and the scene here is lame as fuck. There were some brutal death metal bands cropping up in the early 2000s, and one i actually like, Bloodchurn. Apart from that though there's hardly anything worth mentioning.

It took me some time to get into ''Hammerheart'' I think it has some great riffs, and also one of the best guitar solos in ''Shores in Flames'', but yea gotta be honest that Twilight of the Gods also kind of drags, it's very atmospheric, I use Twilight album sometimes to fall asleep. But yeah for me ranking 1. Blood Fire Death 2. Under the Sign 3. The Return 4. Self-titled 5. Hammerheart, then the rest of them. I heard Twilight of the Gods was supposed to be their final album.

If your average song length is 3-4 minutes then I think the max on an album should be 10 songs. That number can be bumped up to 12 if the first and last tracks are intros/outros.

"Under the Sign..." is the only Bathory album I even really listen to. Morbid Saint are just cashing in on the current Metal "craze" that's sweeping the nation. I gotta say, my hometown Portland, Oregon must have the most Death Metal bands per capita than any other place. It seems like very other person at a show is in like 3 bands.

Since you like everything by Dismember, I'd be curious to know what you think of the fact that they themselves have said that Autopsy's Mental Funeral, is like their "go-to riff book" and have even said they probably ripped them off at some point laughing about it afterwards. Personally I hear it all the time when I listened to Autopsy where there are many moments that I'm like "wait this sounds like Dismember", but it turns out it was actually the other way around. So since I'm aware you don't like that Autopsy album, I'd be curious to see what you think on this one.

A signed picture disc is not ruined if you plan on keeping it as memorabilia. If you plan on listening to it, then it's probably messed up. I know it's unpopular, but I'm not an audiophile and listen to my picture discs. My ears can't tell a major sound quality difference between black, colored, or picture vinyl.

I tried listening to Twilight of the Gods again for the first time in a long while. Maaaan, I cannot do it. Dude flat out could not clean sing... unlike my boy, Cronos. Sold my copy a couple weeks ago.

The number of tracks on an album really depends on the length of the songs and how entertaining they are. Grind bands with 2 minute songs seem to be the bands with 15 songs or more most of the time, which is typically okay with me. If your band does 4-7 minute songs, they better be entertaining as hell to do more than 8-10 songs on an album. No one wants filler songs.

I saw Morbid Saint in 2013 with Sabbat (jpn), they sounded like a hardcore band

Hellripper sounds much more black metal than thrash, to me. I’m not really a fan of most black metal and this singer has kinda the same annoying style of singing.

I'm surprised to hear Bathory mentioned as they're known as black/viking metal but happy J likes their stuff. Like others I'm not a fan of Viking but that song One road to Asa bay off Hammerheart is brilliant, to me their best song is Massacre. Phil Anselmos band Scour did a cover of Massacre, interferior to the original of course but not bad.

Yesterday night went to go see mystifier was not disappointed at all and they play Sarcófago nightmare song definitely one of the best underground Brazilian black metal bands
