In my opinion, Hammerheart is the album that really started the Viking Metal genre, and no one will be able to replace Thomas, every time I listen to One Road to Asa Bay and Home of Once Brave, I cry and get emotional, I contains a chill, and I think how much this legend could have involved in the development of this musical genre. Maybe one day I will be able to reach Thomas's grave and light a candle for him, I hope that the next generations will discover with true to this band and to appreciate the music of this legend.

Let’s face it. Bathory invented black metal. The style of most of the second wave is pretty much Bathory’s style (which they created) with some extra stuff added. Without Bathory, black metal in general would not have the sound it does

For Whom The Bell Tolls was released in 1984, as part of Ride The Lightning. Hammerheart was released in 1990, so maybe it's the exact opposite, regarding who took his variety from whom.
