Wow! Very helpful video, the end result is incredible! My fiancé and I are buying our first home and both bathrooms need a lot of work. I’ll be watching again to get more familiar with the process. If I could give some constructive feedback, I’m a video editor and work with music/voice levels. It’s a tricky balance! Not sure what software you use, but making the fade in and out quite a bit longer for the music and reducing the music track would be a huge help in improving the sound. This will make it less jarring when it transitions from music to narration. When just the music is playing, it can be reduced to the same loudness as the narration/background music mix. This will allow the viewer to play through the entire video without having to turn the volume up and down. Hope this helps! Great content, I look forward to more videos on home improvement!

Hey man great video! I guess I’ve been left in the dark ages because I had no idea reglazing was a thing. I’m getting into flipping and rentals and I have a few questions. How much does a job like this normally cost with the tub and shower surround? Is this more cost affective then retiling the shower surround? How long does this reglaze finish last? For ex: if I had a rental flip done like this, would I have to have it redone every year etc? Much love from OKC OKLAHOMA 💙 LIKED & SUBSCRIBED

@@tylerclark-realtor 1000$ and up for tub reglaze. I’ve done 2 myself for around 400$. As for duration, his will prolly last quite a while. Very thorough and acid etched giving the primer and topcoat a great bite that won’t come off easily. Things to consider though: do you have a sprayer? It’s not completely necessary but will most certainly come out better. The product we use only comes in 2 gallons so try to line a couple up before you go for it because it’s an expensive coating and they shouldn’t be used in partial cans. They have a pot life once mixed so you have a limited window to use the product and clean your sprayer out.

@@DPTubs nice you lay it on there nice and thick. I do work in Philadelphia, tubs and surrounds come out great for me I’ve just been having a hard time doing full bathrooms, where there is additional tile going all around the bathroom walls. I get too much overspray. I work by sections, to let the overspray clear out but usually my bathtubs and tile come out gritty. Any recommendations? I’ve been masking off the bathtub and spraying all the tile first, tile comes out glossy, and very smooth but once I spray the bathtub it loses some of the gloss and had a gritty feel from the overspray from the bathtub lol
@DPTubs
@DPTubs 3 жыл бұрын
@@phillysfinestrefinishing9019 maybe too much air pressure not enough paint so it’s very thin and atomized more. Also only need to be about 6” from the surface the further you are the more gritty it will get everywhere. Also make sure you sand primer and tack cloth the surface before spraying. Make sure gun & cup are cleaned thoroughly. Use a fume extractor while spraying and each coat should have 10-12 minutes of clearance time in between coats. If it’s losing gloss then you need to give more time in between coats. Too much material too fast causes Blushing during the curing process and will end up dull. Also make sure your ratio from catalyst to base paint is correct. Too much catalyst will cause gritty satin look. What is the weather out there? Make sure the material is mixed really well too

@@DPTubs I use the same spray gun and compressor you do, I used to keep my air pressure at 7 o’clock to keep the overspray low, and my paint/needle knob 3-3and a half, half turns. When I spray I’m probably farther away maybe 8inches from the surface? Do you keep the same distance for paint and primer? I have never sanded down primer nor though about it, what grit sandpaper do you use to sand the primer? Usually my primer coats are light, and I don’t wait too long on primer it’s usually dry to the touch in a minute or two. For top coat I don’t normally wait longer then a couple of minutes but my first coat isint heavy either, my second coat is the heavy coat I is (US) ally use 20 oz of primer and 36-40 oz of top coat(paint) I use napco products and the paint dries pretty quick, it has a 2hour dry and is low voc. When doing a bathroom with tile going all around the bathroom would you spray the primer non stop (besides waiting in between coats)as well as the top coat? Right now I’ve been covering up my bathtubs, spraying the tile first with primer and top coat. I get a really smooth finish , wait 10-15 mins to uncover the bathtub and coat the bathtub with primer and top coat but end up with a slight gritty finish on the tile after spraying the tub. I work with a large 12” exhaust fan but still end up with a gritty tub if I don’t cover it and end up with a gritty tile surround if I cover the tub and spray it last. Appreciate you taking the time to help me out! Let me know if there is any way to return the favor!

I spray 3-4 coats / passes. After first coat I wait 10 minutes After second coat I wait 12 minutes After third coat I wait 12 minutes. However it’s beast to check with the product specifications. This helps avoid drips or sags as well as Blushing. I will go over terminology and meanings soon.
