Given that this set was made sometime in the 2000s, perhaps an episode of one of the 1990s or 2000s Batman cartoons would've been on it, had the VCD worked. (9:42, 12:34, 12:51, 13:36, 13:48)

They are both comic companies' respective A-list characters. There was also some really old Batman/Spider-Man crossover comic, but putting that into the equation is giving the bootleggers too much credit.

I looked up "Benefactor" and all I could find was a "The Batman" fanfic on Wattpad that included the tag "suggardaddy". I really, really want that to be what's on the VCD somehow. Just imagine some bootleg cartoon/slideshow based on an inappropriate fanfic hiding away in this thing.

I got the Spider-Man set with the VCD back in like 2019 during the hype for Far From Home The VCD did work, but it was the first Tobey Maguire movie in Mandarin Chinese

This set is actually great value for money if you have a superhero-mad under-7-year-old. You get two figures with accessories, the starting point for a Halloween costume, a shoelace-protector thingy (the Black Spidey head), a WORKING disc launcher (which you can also incorporate into the Halloween costume), a freaking FLAG, a VCD and a sticker. I would have had fun with this when I was little, even though I knew the figures were fake.

Hey, the original Soundwave Transformer toy had a fake battery compartment, but he also came with a shoulder mounted cannon and a hand gun that transformed into fake batteries to go inside that compartment.

Wow, what a crazy assortment of crap, lol! Wherever did you find such a thing?? I too am beyond disappointed that the DVD didn't have a delightful nightmare on it (I mean, I guess it COULD still have some wild oddities on it that you just can't access, but, tragically, we'll never know for sure). No matter; the disc shooter and doofy faces count for something. Thank you for this latest addition to the beloved Bootleg Zone! As always, I loved watching you play around with this goofy stuff. Pity Phelous couldn't get the VCD that came with the toys & Halloween costume to work! Would be cool if the bootleggers created a knockoff Batman & Spider-Man cartoon using existing Batman & Spider-Man animation! I figured the "SUPERHEROS" thing could also be French. At least that's how it would be written in all caps (normally "superhéros" but accents are usually dropped when one writes in capital letters). However considering there is one "superhero" in the same context elsewhere on the box I guess it's probably not. The spelling of the word wouldn't change between singular and plural if it was French since words finishing with an s or an x like "héros" stay the same (le héros -> les héros). The final s would also be silent. Also, Phelous was correct, the Batman on the VCD label is indeed the version from The Batman (the animated TV series, not the movie). IMO a very underappreciated show.

Well good for you your in look because that story exists there's actually 2 crossover storylines revolving them..the first one had joker and carnage in it and had Spidey go to Gotham and the second one had kingpin and Ra's al gule where batman goes to new York and reference the other time they met in it..fun fact in this crossover has no alternate universe jumping as it turns out Gotham just exists in the marvel universe and Spidey and batman just never bumped in to etch other before because batman doesn't really go to new York and Spidey doesn't really go to Gotham..infact they references a few canon storylines from both like carnage being in intensive care after the events of maximum carnage in a comma due to that story's events until he wakes up it's kinda of interesting because it totally works and fits in canon despite not being canon

Pretty sad when the best thing in this bootleg set is an actual working disc launcher. Besides that, this set is pure nightmare fuel with those "Batman" figures. Also why have a VCD that won't work as a bonus, may as well put in a blank DVR in there with Batman TAS label instead, and it'd still sell. lol

Got the Spider-Man one a few years back at a local Asian shopping mall. Yes, everything in the box were the same contents but with Spider-Man instead of Batman (so like the mask was now a Spider-Man mask, the cape had a picture of Spider-Man, etc) The VCD on that one actually worked, but it was just the first Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movie in Mandarin Chinese The battery compartment on the large Spider-Man figure was an actual battery compartment, and it played the Chinese song "Three Auspicious Treasures" when you pressed the button. Very odd choice for a Spider-Man figure
