Complete Deathstroke without failing a single counter [Bronze / 10G]
You will fight against Deathstroke during a story mission, relatively early in the game. Every time he attacks, you must press triangle (PS3) / Y (X360) to counter.
Also attack Deathstroke with Batman's normal strike. Doing so might initiate a QTE where you need to press the counter-button when it's displayed on the screen. If you press the button too early, or too late, your counter attack will fail and you will get hit.
In case you are being hit, pause the game and choose "restart". The entire fight will start from the beginning and you can try again.
WARNING: This trophy / achievement is missable! If you miss it, you must start a new game and play until you reach the Deathstroke boss fight.

I though this missable achievement was going to be quite hard, but after a few tries I found a method that works well. All you have to do is jump over Deathstroke using AA, kick him once with X and then AA jump again. Also, every few hits (8 without upgrades) you will have an effective B+Y combo available to use. This way, you need to press Y to counter only during QTEs. It's even possible to finish the fight without Deathstroke throwing barrels at you (that's what happened to me).

For anyone who missed it and is trying it on New Game +, it took me a couple of tries but my advice is to be patient with your attacks and counters, start with a batclaw + X/square, repeat 'til you have enough combo for a special takedown and use it, dodge out of the way if he dodges your batclaw and strike him. (smoke bit) Spam your counter then spam strike, as soon as that finishes use your special takedown straight away then repeat with the batclaw attacks. Repeat this over and over until you get the trophy/achievement. Note: when it comes to countering during the little mini sequences be patient. You can tell when to counter because the game will slow down and you can notice it more.

i just unlocked this.. felt like i just won a million dollars.. the key is to wait for the TRIANGLE (PS3) / Y(XBOX/PC) to pop up.. don't rush. to those who said it is bugged / glitched, try it with patience. Btw, I'm on PC. good luck boys!!!

This is confusing. I'm not sure if this is on Hard more but don't think Pyx would go for anything lower; The reason behind is that, i've hardly seen A COUPLE of these 'Counter' prompts on my gameplay on Hard, and it took me 6 tries to get this goddamned Achievement. Funny fact is that i've done it with counting only 4 times, you can end this entire fight much faster on aggressive/berserk mode, using Batclaw and beating him before he even gets to attack you.

FOR ANYONE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS ACHIEVEMENT/TROPHY. I GOT IT IN "I AM THE NIGHT " MODE, IT TOOK 30 MINS BUT IT CAN BE DONE THIS WAY. YOU DON'T HAVE TO COUNTER ALL OF DEATHSTROKES ATTACKS OR EVEN ANY OF HIS ATTACKS. TRY TO DEFEAT HIM WITH OUT GETTING HIT AND THE ACHIEVEMT IS YOUR'S.

In the first stage in the QTEs you have to counter 1 time. In the second stage QTEs you have to counter 2 times. Third stage QTEs you have to counter 3 times 90% of the time. 10% it will be two but always expect three counters. Hope this helps people who are having a hard time :)

There are indeed ways to simplify this encounter. Anyways, I was surprized that they didn't add a single blade dodge into the mix. Gotta try this one on my second walkthrough.

You can also batclaw him at yourself, and then punch him to the ground. This trick can be done every now and then, but repeteadly exploitining it will result in you getting hit and failing.

Same thing with me, there are times where the prompt does not come up. But I know i'm taking damage because the screen gets a little blurry. And obviously my health goes down as well.

How come it slows down and prompts you to counter when he counters your attacks? Mine doesn't do that. I even went back and tried it on easy. Still doesn't. That's the part that messes this achievement up for me every time

There's no easy or hard way to do this achievement. You have to just time your counters well And sorry, but anyone who claims to have done it 1st try, is just plain lying!

just done this trophy on i am the night mode. pretty simple when you know how. best thing to do is get your combo up, by jumping over him or dodging, then striking and also using the batclaw slam. keep getting your combo up while using the special takedown(triangle and square). i got his health down really quick and hardly had to counter. also if its not slowing down for you on the counters then you are pressing counter too soon. thanks for the vid powerpyx.

Ok once I figured out the motion of play it took me 2 tries to take him down. The key is to only press counter when it prompts or when the little alert symbols go over his head (they look like little lightning bolts). Also, don't double tap or go crazy jamming buttons. Simply tap Y each time you need to counter him and the game actually finishes the moves for you. Let him come at you first, and when you have finished countering you can wail on him. Repeat until you drop the controller in joy.

Nevermind what I previously asked, figured out a wicked tactic of my own. I would L2/LT+Triangle/Y and combo off of him bouncing on the ground until he dodged away, wait to counter one time then retort with punching until he dodged again, then repeated that exact same thing over again until I had come to a QTE

i missed this trophy on my original playthrough and wound up doing it on new game plus trust me you don't want to go through it like that it's very tough to do with no counter indicator, if you get hit just pause and restart to save yourself some heartache ;)

Do I freaking need to apply every counter or do I just need to do the ones that imply the triangle/Y button..? A bit of clarification would be helpful because I've been on this for an hour already and when I get even nicked a single time I restart, I'm getting plum tired of it.

The hell with the trophy, I'd just like to beat this a-hole. I tried for four hours before I threw my controller across the room and gave up. This is the worst, most frustrating/least fun boss fight I think I've ever encountered in a current-gen game. I'm pretty much ready to take the game back. They put this fight WAY too early in the game. Not even an hour in and I'm stuck? I buy games for entertainment, not to get me so frustrated I want to punch a hole in my telly.

I got the achievement on hard difficulty. During the QTE (quick time events) I thought there was something wrong with the game. I would press Y or triangle for ps3 and I would take damage. Sometimes I could counter and others I couldn't. When I realized I was pressing the counter button too early I knew that was the problem. Don't press anything in the QTEs until it say press Y or triangle to counter.

MrSIick1 I managed to do it since the following month I posted that comment, but the most helpful tip I can give you is that you gotta be prudent about when you gotta pause and restart to the last checkpoint. If you feel like you're gonna mess up and die, or say you're at the point where you have two or three health health bars left, flashing red, that's a good time to restart.

This is so frustrating...I have been on it for 2 hours and I keep getting taken down in the third round where he fights with the sword...he keeps doing this uncounterable move that slices me. Should I be countering everything or just when it prompts? Ugh, I need help!!

I am playing now and I spent almost 2 hours. Here is the point: PATIENCE. If you have to fight 20 mins, take 20 mins. Do not attack always like crazy he will make a counter and hit u. So, just do counters and jump over him to avoid his hits. When u jump behind him use the hook. In the last section, with the sword, even more patience, he will attack more, so jump and jump and every 2-3 counters and 2-3 jumps use the hook again. Not constatnly, As I said: PATIENCE. I did it in Normal.

What sucks is that i cant roll back saved games to level up to grind for more xp to defeat Deathstroke. Im permanently stuck at loosing. I have spent over 30 something hours trying to beat deathstroke. My patience ran thin, and i gave up entirely. When users said that Deathstroke is the easiest boss is Arkham Origins, that was pretty much the assurance that i need to uninstall and remove it from my PC and to never contribute to WB Games Montréal or Splash Damage ever again. Hope this helps.

This guys right below. Just wait for his attack and L2+triangle then with a hit. Counter 2 more attacks, again, letting him attack first then repeat. Just be alert at all times and you'll get the point counter point trophy. Otherwise he's pretty easy, but with that trophy he's kinda hard. But do those steps and it'll work trust me.

this has to be one of the worst achievements ever i gave up after trying to not get hit after about 40 or 50 tries. guess ill try it on easy once i beat the game achievements should be at least possible this one would probably take 100 tries on normal and it makes the game not very fun

I figured it out. The key is waiting. I kept pressing the counter button when i thought it should come up. but if you wait and press nothing it does eventually come up. My bad, vid is solid.
