For me, the best Batman Beyond villain hands down without a doubt is Inque. Nobody caused more trouble for both Terry and Bruce quite like her and is one of the few villains who actually broke into the Batcave. She is also one of the few villains who has battled both Batmen and actually came close to defeating both of them. Inque is definitely my all time favourite villain from the show as she's mysterious, sexy, tough and dangerous, all of the qualities a female need to be a great Batman villain.

I'm surprised you didn't mention how Beyond Spellbinder is fairly similar to Mysterio from Spider-Man, and that Stalker feels like a send up to Kraven the Hunter. The Terrific Trio episode also had some shot for shot remakes of the Spider-Man comics too.

I agree that Ra's al Ghul is amazing in Batman Beyond. In fact I think his episode in the show is my favourite episode of his in the DCAU. One of the best responses Batman has ever delivered to Ra's is "I take it back. You don't cheat death, you whimper in fear of it". I also really love how irritated he keeps getting when Terry mispronounces his name.

Man Curare is way higher for me...B or A. She made an impression on me watching the series.

My introduction to Batman Beyond was a book I had as a kid with Shriek as the antagonist.

I think of all the Batman Beyond villains I would have to say the standout is Shriek. Out of all the villains presented he seemed to be the most distinct and have the most potential to work with. The idea of using sound to destroy things seems like a nod to Black Canary, but Shriek goes a bit further in using a two-way radio against Bruce Wayne, and to use local sound suppression and personal sound amplification to isolate Batman and track his movements. That was all just the first episode too - the second episode with him was also pretty good in showing him manipulating sound to his own aims. The only real failing for him is that he seemed a bit dumb and didn't seem to have any fail-safes or other contingency designed safeguards to prevent his first two defeats.

It's almost unfair to have the returning villains on the list since Inque and Blight at the very least are A tier compared to them but S tier among the original Beyond villains only.

I feel it's a disservice to Batman Beyond to only put the three returning villains in S while keeping his own and original ones in A

I never knew how much I needed somebody to make this tier list video until I saw yours so THANK YOU very much! 🙏 The Batman Beyond villains are some of my personal favorite supervillains but I always wish that they would’ve done a special 2 part episode where all of the villains team up to take down Terry. Preferably, I would love Blight to be the ringleader, giving him one last hurrah to really close off his story in an epic way (not that I disliked how it ended in the show).

Mad Stan is pure S-tier. Dude is always fun on-screen, and he's a genuine danger to Terry. The AI that takes over the Batsuit is a close second, though. That nonchalant "Wherever deleted programs go" is the coldest line in a series full of 'em.

Special kudos to the very final scene of April Moon, by the way. I love Bullwhip's potential fate at the skillful hands of Doctor Corso...

"He's gonna fall into the center of the earth and probably be killed." Honestly, probably not. If he's intangible, none of the things at the center of the earth that could harm him will affect him. It's a question of whether or not his intangible form needs food and oxygen, but I kinda have to assume no on the oxygen because otherwise he wouldn't have been able to breathe while using the device anyway. Might be overthinking that last point, though.

I would put Big Time higher on the rank (not S nor A, but maybe in B). Besides the fact his fights with Terry are very similar to Bruce's struggle with Two Face (Batman having to deal with friend turned into villain) their backstory answered the questions that some fans had about Terry's past in the juvenile hall (ex: What crime did Terry commited? Was he a bad kid?), showing that he was never a bad person. He was just a 14 old boy going through some problems in his personal life, but learned his lesson and became better, while Big Time kept repeating the same mistakes, acting as dark reflection of what Terry could end up becoming.

One thing you forgot to mention is that Edgar is the son of Mandragora(the guy who killed Huntress' father) and he does speak a bit in that episode when he's revealed.

I'll be the first (presumably) to say that the nostalgia made you want to put Joker, Ra's and Freeze on top. But honestly, Inque, Curare, Shriek and Spellbinder are S tear because they came the closest to killing Batman. No offense, and I no this is bias on MY part, but the Joker wouldn't have gotten anywhere without his goons. At least Spellbinder and Shriek made all of their equipment and went toe-to-toe with Batman allone.

Ranking the Batman Beyond villians is a hard call as so many of them are one-shots. They're goods one-shorts though. A handful have good return episodes that help tell their story.

My favorites have always been Blight, Inque, Shriek, Spellbinder, and Mr. Freeze based on their powers, quotes, or episodes in general. One thing about Shriek and Spellbinder that I don't get is both could've made a lot of legitimate money with their respective mastery of sound engineering and hologram/VR tech; why go to crime. Shriek, I understand given he was indebted to Derek Powers and loses the ability to operate legitimately and goes nuts from being rendered deaf; but the sheer number of gimmicks and inventions he had in his lab is astounding! Sell the micro-recorder/transmitter to the Government, sell the music player, sell the amplifier to medical companies to, ironically, help the deaf! Powers went on and on about how impractical Shriek was in business; but it seems like he was the one who couldn't see the potential of these inventions. But Ira "Spellbinder" Billings created virtual reality technology so sophisticated that it tricks the brain enough to convince Batman himself to jump off a speeding vehicle into high speed traffic! His hologram tech is so good that he was standing right behind BARBARA GORDON and she couldn't see, hear, or sense him! And instead of revolutionizing the VR industry, he's a school psychologist? As resentful as he was of how little he was paid; did it never occur to the guy to go into private practice?! Look at Payback's father; the guy had to be pulling in big credits to finance half of what Payback had! Create, patent, and sell his VR tech as a side hustle? No, instead he CHOSE to be a counselor at a public high school. Side note: I've always wondered if April was a plant from the gang from the beginning, or if she developed Stockholm Syndrome during her captivity and either seduced, or fell in love with, Bullwhip after that. Also; the invisible guy's real name was Ian Peek, his show was called "The Inside Peek", and the Joker in the red fool's hat from Joyride was called "Scab".

(In a sidenote, have you at least read if not watched The Last Starfighter?) - *A if not S tier too.* Funny how the show's art department coincidentally made him quite similar on the comics Spellbinder, despite not knowing much about that iteration. - *A-tier,* and sorry, John Semper Jr. of Spider-Man: The Animated Series fame, but your otherwise likable take on Kraven the Hunter is nothing compared to him. - *B if not C.* Hope his parents got the AKIRA laser satellite treatment from Return of the Joker or something. - They needed more time to cook though. Sad to see the only S tier are the original Batman villains. Not sure if I agree with that one. Talia/Ra’s are definitely NOT S tier over blight in this series. You gotta remove previous emotional attachment from it.

Counting the return villaons as Beyond villaons was extremy unfair as shown by how they were the only ones to reach S because of details from before Batman Beyond as opposed to them either being excluded as BTAS or only judges for their episodes alone since being from an entirly different show gave them an extremely unfair advantage

Blight on A tier is about right. I give him deductions for his derivative concept and that he was absent after season 1. We really don't see much of him as Blight. I really wish they had one more movie with his big return..

I think if the named Jokerz are individually rated so should the Royal Flush gang. I do think they hold enough distinct characteristics to warrant that. Ten an A and King a B. Ace, Queen and Jack a C with Jack being lowest. King is somewhat interesting as a loser with a massive complex. I feel like he drags his whole family down because he cares more about his own personal legacy than he does about anything else. Jack I rate the lowest out of the bunch because there really is not much to him. There needed to be one more episode with the RFG to iron out Jack a bit more. I definitely would have done something similar to the comics but make Jack better than his dad at leading the gang. Melanie could also use a completed redemption where she gets her due as fully reformed.
