Karsten Powers Well duh, but probably not many of the books they would have done if bat issues kept going. Only the bigger ones. White Knight and Europa would have been back issues episodes. Robin 3 and the penguin story would not have been.

It kinda sucks that The Reaper is one of the most lesser known Batman villains because in this one I loved his design of just this towering, armored, and menacing villain that is also kind of terrifying and I feel like if portrayed well (say like as a 1- off villain in a telltale game or something) I feel like he could be a fairly interesting one-and-done villain

Lazzen it ended bc they realized how close they were to 300 episodes on back issues. So they cancelled bat issues and then moved those episodes to back issues so they can be closer to 300.

this is my second time watching today, but i was half asleep and missed alot the first time, had it on more background. I think even Sal would say I watch Back Issues too much, I need to get out, meet people, get a life going again. Soon. Two years sober and shout out to Sal and Ben back on google+ giving me inspiration to put down the meth many a year ago when the Little HOuse was justd gettin' their feet wet. Love this channel, the first ever youtube channel I watched watched, like one would watch Cheers, or breaking bad or whatever mainstream cable or hbo series. this is my game of thrones. all hail COMICPOP! Actually I quite like this story. It's about Batman blurring the line, going to the dark side, making pacts with ciminals and compromising over and over, getting on the verge of becoming something else, then realizing he is wrong, that he went too far and getting back to his morals.

When I first bought the collected edition I read it twice that same day because it's that good, yes I prefer it over Year One un a way. Another thing of interest when at 32:43 Sal mentions how Joe Chill use to own the same gun Batman is holding, in the original single issue that one panel is of the young Joe Chill holding the gun but in every collected edition of Year Two that one panel has been redrawn having a young Bruce Wayne's little head pasted atop Joe Chill's body I guess to better clarify that little Bruce absconded with the gun.

Reaper made an appearance in this year Batman Annual 2, i don't remember if is a Batman or Detective Annual but Reaper appears in Greece and Bruce in a panel has a book labeled "Year 2" so Reaper is in continuity again.

man oh man, I got DC universe for savage screen, finally watched Mask of the Phantasm last night...ITS SOOO GOOOOOD. i mean jeez, it may be the second best batman film after The Dark Knight...maybe even better. three act structure was perfection, adult without going outside of PG rating, action packed, a genuine love story [as compared to this book which I find lacking]. and the end with the joker? does that mean what I think it means for the continuity of the BAS? So good, its worth the price of admission alone

Year Two, as well as Three, were not that great. For those interested in reading about Batman’s earlier years, start with Frank Miller’s Year One, and then go straight to Ed Brubaker’s The Man Who Laughs. The Man Who Laughs feels like a true sequel to Year One.

I decided to read this comic yesterday after hearing that it may've inspired Mask of the Phantasm. And honestly, it's disappointing. The title is partially to blame. When I think Year Two, I think of a major transformation in Batman's mythis where he starts meeting wacky costumed criminals who would eventually become regular adversaries. I don't think of him just confronting a grim reaper vigilante and having to team up with his parents killer to take him down. Another problem is the artwork's not that impressive. Until Todd McFarlane took sole control of the last two issues, he had to share pencilwork credit with another person and that person just didn't have the talent to make panels pop out. Finally, Batman deciding to bring out a gun to attack the Reaper is feels so uncharacteristic of him.
