It’s very important to me that Jason refuses to not be apart of the family. He feels he doesn’t belong, but always shows up.

Alfred's death in the Dark Knight Returns comics was more deserving, dying when his purpose of helping Bruce was served. It's what he would've wanted. Even though, he would've put his own life on the line for the Bat family many times, what Bane did to Alfred was just heartbreaking. Alfred dying of old age in the Dark Returns was a more dignified and fitting way for how he wanted to go, in peace and free of pain.

I'll be back in a year when they throw his skeleton into a lazarus pit.

This even makes the viewers feel better. When I first saw alfred die the first thing that came to mind was a quote that alfred said "why do we fall, so we can learn to pick ourselves back up again."

Needed this edge to finally cry my heart out, something that I needed for some reason. Cried when I read this, crying again right now. But for the love of God, Jason. Put those sunglasses down, show some respect to the family you always sneak up towards to because you know you need it. AND STOP LOOKING LIKE THE PENGUIN!

Alfred deserve better than this. He was more than Bruce's butler, he was his best friend. Without him, Bruce couldn't truly be Batman. Why? Because every time Bruce was at his worst, Alfred was always there for him and helped get him back up. But now, I don't know how Bruce could recover this time. Bane really broke the Bat, Joker's probably pissed off that not only did Bane the very thing he wanted to do for years, break the spirit of his enemy. Not mention, Bruce's father Thomas, one of his very reasons for becoming Batman played a part in the death of the man who helped Bruce throughout all the years. Not to mention, after everything Alfred did for the Wayne family. This is how he was rewarded? Alfred was the best of the Bat Family, he was the only person who kept Bruce sane. This was probably the worst to happen to Batman since losing Jason. Damian's blames himself for what happened to Alfred, but it wasn't his fault. Alfred would've died protecting the Bat family, but this was not a deserving fate for him. How Bruce will recover from this, I don't know. Thomas's delusional attempts at giving Bruce a normal life ended with destroying what's left of it as well ruining his son's chance at actually living one while still being Batman.

I feel like Alfred's death could’ve been done better. The city of bane story didn’t really do it justice. Personal opinion. Hearing that King's original plan was to make it clay face solves that mystery, which just makes the how it happened even more tragic. This is why you don’t let publishers interfere!

Alfred is somewhere in tine where a rescue mission is going to play out and during that mission they will find something that they weren’t supposed to find and the multi verse will come under fire once again

I think this is a way to apply realism into the Batman universe. I like it. Imagine that in Batman Beyond Bruce suddenly gets a flashback of Alfred from before his death and how they use it as a callback with now Bruce leading the family instead of Alfred.

This whole batman story with Bane and Thomas Wayne was a mess and a half, but this was nice to show how much of an impact one person can have on a family. What else can you say but, To Alfred...

I think this was the best possible way to kill off someone so important like Alfred. It’s beautiful.
