My only issue with this comic is why are all of Jason's possible moms in the same area?

This comic is so famous for Robin's death that I didn't know that it was in the middle-east. Or that superman is in it. Or an actual historical figure Ayatollah Kohmeini is in it. Or that Joker becomes an ambassador from Iran. This comic is kinda bizarre.

“Because he took me away from you.” Jason Todd to Batman in under the red hood. Man Jason really really loves Bruce but Bruce is just bad at dealing with his sons. Jason is truly an outcast in the bat family and that’s all he has. Sad sad story for the second boy wonder

Even though Jason was my least favorite Robin (although I did like him as Red Hood) I still think it was kind of mean that the fans voted to kill him off.

I remember reading this in the 4th grade, my friend had the comic and let me read it on the bus ride home.. I threw up later that night the story disturbed me that much. I threw away all my Robin toys and missed school the following day.

The Joker's motivation in the Silver Age comics are really strange compared with the Modern Day Joker.

Superman pleads Batman to leave the Joker alone and Batman doesn't kill the Joker, but when the joker causes the death of Louis Lane superman ignores Batman and kills the Joker

For those who don't know Jason Todd, or the robin in this story, was fresturated that batman wasnt killing the joker, or anybody at all. In the story I'm familiar with Jason Todd was mad that batman wouldn't kill the joker, so he tried to kill the joker himself and he got beat half to death like In this story.

I will never understand the people who hated Jason and voted for him to die. He was a sad, traumatised fifteen year old kid, lashing out in the only way he knew how. But he was still good and trying to do good. He really didn't deserve the treatment he got then or the constant blame for his own death in the years that followed (subsequent comics always seemed to forget to mention Sheila's involvement and the fact Jason went in because he thought she was in danger, rather than recklessly thinking he could take the Joker down alone)

The underlying story in this comic (Jason's death and whatnot) is fantastic, but the whole middle eastern storyline is kind of ridiculous. Under The Red Hood did it better IMHO
