While not my favorite iteration of the character, Keaton has a place in Batman history as the iteration of the character that really changed the way the masses see the titular hero. And the Batman theme is just as, if not more, iconic. Utilizing heroic and valiant brass, rushing percussion and strings, and a catchy and memorable motif, Elfman's Batman theme is one for the ages, and will always stand the test of time.

Michael Keaton will always be my favorite Batman of all time. Danny Elfman's music to the 2 Batman movies will move on through our hearts and ears. It's timeless.

Again, MORE nostalgia! I first heard this theme in LEGO Batman 2, years before I first saw the Burton Film, and it's been stuck with me ever since. It has, unfortunately, remained the definitive theme for Batman, with not just one but BOTH of Zimmer's compositions for the character falling short of the timeless recognition that Elfman brought to his theme. Hopefully, Giacchino's The Batman theme will contend with Elfman's masterpiece, but I doubt it.

Always love when Commissioner Gordon first sees Batman in the Axis factory: "Oh, my, God!"

Its incredible the German Expressionist influence Burton was able to channel into the film, and Elfman's score was able to turn that from a feeling and into an atmosphere. You feel like you're standing right there in the scene watching it all happen.

Danny Elfman wrote amazing scores for Batman, particularly he's my favorite along with the late Shirley Walker who also wrote a pretty epic score for Batman.

To many, Keaton is their Batman. To others, they don't really care so much. He's certainly my Dark Knight as he was the hero of my childhood. Sure, that's nostalgia at play, but I genuinely do think his films hold up and that's because of the mood and atmosphere they create - thanks more than partly to Danny Elfman and Shirley Walker. Apart from maybe "The Batman" and obviously B:TAS, I don't think there's been many adaptations to nail Batman's gothic, noir/pulp, mystery-horror roots quite like Tim Burton.
