It only makes sense to reuse Danny Elfman's Batman theme for Michael Keaton's grand return to the Batman role, and boy does that theme sound as good as it did all the way back in 89. With all the bravado and superhero flare it's known for, it proves how Elfman's Batman theme has stood the test of time and never gets old in it's sound and encapsulation of the character.

BatKeaton was the GOAT in the movie, i'm glad he didn't get the Jake Skywalker treatment. Last but least he actually achieved the mission of ending crime in Gotham City. Keaton IS Batman

@@tk-6967 How Disney did Luke in the Sequel Trilogy. Instead of giving his story a more hopeful or successful ending, they instead decided he failed to achieve any of his goals, and ended up a tired, bitter old man, despite all he accomplished in the Original Trilogy. For example, Keaton would've gotten the 'Jake Skywalker' treatment if Gotham was worse than it ever was, Joker came back and ran the city as its mayor or something ludicrous. And then some 'successor/replacement' character fixes their mess. I don't think disrespectful is the right word, but it would've been going out of their way to depict the old favorite as an incompetent failure. It just rubs a lot of people the wrong way, and for a good reason. Which is why people like how The Flash handled BatKeaton. He succeeded, and while he's still got some room to grow, it wasn't 'all for naught.'

@@tk-6967 Well, sure. That's an example of it done right. But it's very easy to get wrong. Batman Beyond is exceptional, and its ability to sell its premise without betraying what Batman is is part of that. Compare it to Conroy's live action CW Batman. Roughly the same ending, but vastly different ways of getting there.

Keaton was way before my time, but I still love him as Batman and seeing this Batman, THE Batman return after all these years is incredible. First we got his theme in Josstice League, now we get him in The Flash

I was fortunate enough to see him in the theatre when that film came out in 1989, so it was a real blast to see him again.

Yeah, I was born in 2005 so I didn’t experience when the films were coming out. But I still grew up watching them and have a lot of nostalgia. Glad he came back.

He was on screen for ten minutes then died. If they were going to use him like this they should have left the memories alone. The last image we saw of that Batman now is him dead at the hands of a nameless brute.

@@baba3231 Arguably, yes. It's like a disappointing thing to know how our childhood hero finally died in our adult years within that universe. But it was also good to see him spring back to action, doing the right thing, however scary or threatening it was.

Holy goose. This is SO GODDAMN COOL. Im gonna watch Batman 1989 for the first time tonight cause ive finally come to understand why Keaton isnt just Batman. Michael Keaton is THE Batman. period.

He's just so cool. Everything he does looks so easy, and he just seems *smart*. That's who Batman is to me, the smart guy in the room, doesn't speak too often, but is deeply compassionate and cunning.

I didnt watch his Batman films until 2012 but as a ten year old enthralled with Batman at the time his movies we're something different and awesome for me. It was so great to see him back with the classic music and all, still my favorite live action Batman to this do... solidified

What makes this special in a way a lot of younger people won't get to experience, as a kid who was just 10 in 1989 with no internet...before Tim Burton and Michael Keaton, unless you read the comics, the onky Batman we had was, no disrespect to Adam West for his work, but a goofy, kiddy Batman who danced and pow'ed a lot. Then, out of the blue, without warning, we get a dark, gritty, vengeful, SCARY Batman who struck fear in Gotham's crininals...lurking in the shadows, striking out of nowhere, a seven foot bat came out and sent them to the hospital. It was like...what is this? He is SO cool... That's what changed the game. Keaton and Burton, despite the initial backlash against Keaton as a "conedy guy", paved the way for everything that came later. When Schumacher tried to bring back the camp, it failed, because people didn't want 70's Batman anymore...they wanted the Dark Knight. Keaton and Burton made Batman cool again for an entire generation who didn't know he was...which allowed us older folk to bribg it to you kids 😉

the rumor was (before the whole Gunn hiring) was that he might headline the Batman Beyond movie, and take over as Batman for the Justice League.. but now i guess both he and Afleck are out? Keaton of Gunn's doing, but Gunn appeared to have wanted Affleck, and he said no, in turn .

I just love this theme a lot as I grew up watching Batman the animated series on Cartoon Network and this is a big comeback of the music.... The best music track of Batman ever existed!

Flash was a good movie but I totally blame the studio for its failure. The fact that it took them decades to get a flash movie off the ground, then make it the way they did. Again I liked the movie a lot and it was great to see Keaton again but that’s really because Andy muchieti is a good director who was able to direct a chaotic concept of a movie that should have been so much simpler to make. I really wish WB would sell off DC. I don’t even have hope in this Gunn universe. Either way Keaton is an absolute legend!!

It was true. Keaton was filmed coming out of the car at the courthouse for the original ending. "Batgirl" would take place after "The Flash," putting Keaton in a new world. Then he was going to be in the beginning of "Aquaman 2" (his part was filmed) where he sent Arthur on the mission that drove the story, then he'd appear at the end. All of this was eventually going to lead to a "Crisis on Infinite Earths" movie. Then Gunn pulled a jerk movie and erased the plans for Keaton.

Familiar yet new. I’ve not seen the movie and I’ve been conflicted about that. But I love what’s been done here with the-now-classic theme. Some interesting work going on in this rendition. Especially in the opening 2 mins or so. The grandeur is there, but with a bit of new life in it, and doesn’t come off as corny sounding.

Love how Keaton was such a dynamo as the Dark Knight that he managed to steal the spotlight from a movie that wasn't even his. Honestly, probably the best they could hope for with Ezra Miller headed off the deep end.

This isn’t the main earth ‘89. Its a flashpoint esque earth. Reeves’ superman and keaton’s batman are in the same universe, and Kal-El is dead in this new one.
