One thing cool about Nicholson's Joker is that even after being down and battered by Batman he still manages to employ his Joker bag of tricks like the fake teeth, eyeglasses & fake arm. This is classic trickster Joker.

I like that, given the fact that the Joker still calls Bruce bat brain, he actually doesn’t realize who Batman is, but still says that he was a kid when he killed his parents. @@cyrus7241 I believe initially the Joker was unaware of who Batman was or what he was talking about but likewise put two and two together to remember the wealthy couple young Jack Napier shot in cold blood as a low-level street hood and connected mafioso associate up and coming decades before he worked his way up the ladder in the Gotham City mafia crime syndicate run by late former Don Carl Grissom and became a made man/member, high ranking mafioso soldier, pro hitman, top enforcer and underboss under Carl Grissom years after Jack Napier shot the Waynes in front of eight year old Bruce Wayne. When the Joker said, "I was just a kid when I killed your parents, " I believe the Joker realized that both Bruce Wayne was Batman and that Bruce/Batman was the orphaned sole surviving child of the wealthy couple Jack and his accomplice mugger, Joe Chill, the triggerman in the Wayne murders in the comics and Nolan's Dark Knight remake trilogy, but a mere accomplice mugger and low-level street thug and associate to Jack in Burton's original 89 Batman.

But did killing Joker truly end Bruce's pain. You can tell in some of the other films that in some ways, he's haunted by what he did, he feels some semblance of shame for taking it that far and that's why he became more disciplined and never went for the kill again.

Quick observation. Batman didn’t have to wait until the Joker fell to his death before trying to climb up. Also the endurance of Vicki Vale to hold hang on in a pull up position is just amazing. Seriously though this is such a great scene. When the Joker is backing up while Batman is walking towards him slowly saying you killed my parents is some of Nicholsons best work. The way he goes from hey what you taking about, to spitting out blood and then that quick laugh which was such a good reminder of how insane he has become. He talks at times just like he’s still Jack Napier but in between there’s a lot of little things Nicholson does that shows just how far off the deep end his mind has gone. To me that scene shows how good Nicholsons Joker would of been in a script as good as the Dark Knight. The Burton 89 Universe directed by Christopher Nolan would of been the ultimate Batman movie.

Empathy (I know you tried hard because I tried hard to get over what you did to me!) Sadistic Pleasure (I am SO happy I caused you that much pain becasue it pales in comparison what you did to me) Anticipation (I have been looking for you my whole life and I finally found you and now I'm going to tear you open like a Christmas present) Contempt (I don't want to hear it! Interesting trivia: As we all know, Jokers skin was bleached chalk white from the vat of chemicals. If you watch closely in some shots (1:23) his wrists are seen under his purple gloves. In order to make Jacks arms look the same as the makeup, he wore white long gloves under the purple gloves to give off the illusion his skin was white. This would save some time in makeup. The only time we ever see his hands white with makeup and green finger nails is when his hand comes out of the chemicals and when he's applying makeup to his face to hide his white skin.

That’s a horrifying way to die. You’re basically free and then next thing you know you got an extremely heavy thing suspended from your ankle, making it impossible to climb up, no way to cut the weight, with your muscles slowly failing to keep hold of the weight, knowing a very high fall is waiting for you. (The pilot could definitely have gotten closer to the building and Joker could have survived, but still).
@dzretromachine
@dzretromachine 2 жыл бұрын
I think pilot not even understood what's going on, they might think he lost grip, passed out or suicided himself. I also don't think Batman intended to kill him in such cruel way but to just stop him from runs away.
@Theendman42
@Theendman42 2 жыл бұрын
@@dzretromachine That is possible, but it didn't look like Batman much cared that the gargoyle broke off, it is still a pretty sad way to die regardless, knowing doom is coming and you have nothing you can do to stop it.

No finale from any other Batman movie can top this finale considering that it shows Batman confronting Joker in the Gotham cathedral. Add to the fact that he confronts him for killing his parents makes this scene even more iconic and unforgettable.

@@CraigMcfly1985 no it's because it's the way The Joker went out in the film. Think about it. The Joker is dancing with the Devil (this case a gargoyle) under a pale moonlight, which earlier in the scene shows a full moon. It's pretty symbolic.
