That's 1% extra battery life with the Batteriser on the dead Alkaline! LMAO!

Yeah, still have not found a single product where it actually makes a difference. I've been trying hard though..

Can your meter do energy measurement? It would be interesting to see how many Wh you can get out of a battery with and without the batteriser. Buy a 10-pack of cheap alkalines (and make the assumption that all batteries in the pack have approximately the same energy in them), then run some flat without a batterizer on and some with it. Maybe do it for a constant power load (simulating devices that have their own boost converter in them, which is most electronics nowadays) and for a purely resistive load (simulating a "simple" device like torches and toys).

Thank you for your time at evaluating this product with 4 videos. I'm almost sure you did more than the manufacturer did himself ! Anyhow, for what it's worth, opinion wise, I would personally stay away from that product. The physical aspect doesn't inspire me in the sense that since it doesn't seem to have any electronics involved, I'm rather suspicious. If you had so much difficulty to put the batteries (with the batterizer thingie) in devices and then had to use a screwdriver to pull them out, most people will end end either breaking the device or the batterizer, so to my eyes this isn't worth the trouble. This is similar to some 18650 batteries manufacturer which are including some protective gear inside the battery but the overall size ends up to be slightly longer which prevents the buyers to use regular 18650 battery holders or chargers. Globally if the odds are that I might break something trying to make it fit, I'll simply pass my turn. I respect your ideas and appreciate the time you invested to prepare and share your tests but I have to admit, at this moment, I don't quite believe in this product. I don't know if this is a myth but I heard that if we "squeeze" a battery, as evenly as possible and without getting too excited about it, this would induce a voltage variation. Just for my own pleasure I think I'll check if that stuff is available and if the price is decent, I might get some for testing purposes and "see" by myself.

You cannot get more out of the NIMH battery. When its voltage start dropping, it needs to be recharged. But, using it with rechargeable batteries seems like a good use for it in certain, admittedly very rare, things that don't like the lower 1.2v of rechargeable chemistry. The battery won't last as long between charges, but it will have the higher voltage. However, NIMH batteries don't follow the size standard as well as disposables, which will make the battery not fit when it is made even larger by the batteriser being on it.

Interesting serious of videos, thanks. You mouse eats batteries though, my Logitech lasts so long on a pair of AAA batteries I virtually can't remember how to replace them. I'd guess it probably lasts a year or more with daily use.

These are dangerous, then. If someone is silly enough to use this sort of thing in a critical device, such as a smoke detector, all it does is disable the low battery warning.

Some interesting info about the Batterizer can be found at the following link : www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?428675-Test-review-of-Batteroo-AA-with-a-Duracell-battery. Keep in mind that I'm not affiliated to that site in any way shape or form.

The battery technology problem revealed by this video is not the trivial problem of the Batteriser being poor value, it's a mouse that will only work for 26 days on one set of batteries. But nobody seems to want to take on Logitech (or Apple). I guess Batteriser are the currently fashionable target for electronics geeks - maybe fashion will move on and settle on some more extreme rip-offs.

Perhaps the hype would be less if the "fashionable target" did not badmouth skilled engineers and pay for dislikes on their videos, while providing false information to favor their product.. This series is not to "take on" anybody, just to provide an objective test of the device. Sure you could argue that it's not objective, as I did my best to find a product that would benefit from the Batteriser. :)

To be fair, what I understand about the batterisers technology comes almost entirely from your first video - I could not take any more of Dave Jones's ranting. And what I understand from that is that it is overhyped, not worth buying, but not an actual con. A mouse that will only work for 26 days is an actual con. I take the point about the distasteful marketing of Batteriser - but Logitech are so big that they don't even need to bother to try hard to get folks as smart as you to buy useless products, and use them to demonstrate the uselessness of a less useless product - surely you can see that something has gone awry here.

It's quite unusual for Logitech product to work that little time on a battery. I presume that was measured on half-dead Ni-Mh, because from my experience Logitech mouses work up to a year on fresh one.

None of my gaming / performance mice have lasted more than 1 month on battery, but they recharge in a few hours, so It really doesn't bother me. My G7 was a few days, G700 1-2 weeks, same for a Microsoft one I had and the Performance MX up to a month.

I don't know what you expect from manufacturers. Break the laws of physics? When the mouse is in use a light/laser is on, a small CCD is running, a processor is calculating movement from that and the mouse is constantly transmitting. A month usage time from a single AA battery is very good engineering. If that's not enough for you, get a wired mouse. I don't see the appeal of a wireless mouse anyway unless you have to take it out of a laptop bag every day. The mouse is only an example use for the batteriser (and I'd say a very typical one that people will try). It's irrelevant if it'd piss away the energy in a battery in a day or in a year. The batteriser is such a "fashionable" target, because it made false claims, most so obviously false that you can only assume the manufacturer is either really stupid or flat out lying to scam people. Considering how they reacted to criticism you know it is the latter. That is a scam. I don't see any mouse manufacturer claiming you get a year's use out of a battery, when it lasts a month in reality.
