Tony and Kevin take off on the TravelScoot Deluxe, the world's lightest mobility scooter, to see just how far it will go on a single charge. Its 274 Wh airline-approved lithium-ion battery is expected to last 8-10 miles at the warranty weight limit. Should be borne in mind that this was pretty much non-stop - accelerating from a standstill pulls a lot of current, so range in stop/start urban use is _much_ lower than achieved here. I have a Deluxe, bought July 2019 (the 274Wh battery is dated Oct 2018), so almost exactly 5 years of use. It now gives about 5-6 miles non-stop (as in this demo) but barely 3-4 miles over several short urban outings. Unfortunately replacement batteries are extortionately expensive (about twice what you would pay for similar ones in other applications). ETA >> All that said, these are excellent machines, very well-built and durable, and they are not only light but very compact and can literally 'turn on a dime' (steering to the right or clockwise so the drive wheel is on the outside of the turn) - they can be ridden into and around venues that most scooters simply can't.

13.5 miles ain't too shabby. Looks like Kevin was having a lot of fun twirling around and it didn't even phase Tony. Pretty slick.

We are going to try and visit you soon. Our current scooters keep breaking down and have left me stranded. We need to replace them with *something* and these might just be the ticket.

Ok, so I am 500+lbs and I have an original travel scoot with the belt drive. I have major overheating issues with the electric motor. I can go maybe 6 grocery store isle lengths and it shuts off, I wait a few minutes and j can resume but it will soon shut off again. I use one if the newer style batteries. Also even at a full charge as I am say going down an hallway it will show orange and sometimes even red on the meter until I ease off the throttle. Any help you guys can offer would be appreciated!

An overheating motor is most often caused by low battery voltage (and resulting high current). When you say that you have a newer style battery, we assume that you have a lithium-ion battery. Can you tell us if this is the case, and if so, how old? Also, I recommend calling us at 800 342-2214 or emailing us directly at usa@travelscoot.com if you have technical issues, as we can reply faster.
