As game #5 progressed, I honestly thought Alex was going to lose the match. This is the first time I ever saw Billy Thorpe shoot - and, he did great. 2 thumbs up to both of them.

I have never seen Alex scratch so many times in my life.

THIS should be the standard for broadcasting one pocket -- i can scan thru and see when they start to make balls in a flash. SO AWESOME

That third game.... woah! I have never seen so many consecutive unintentional pocket scratches. That was hard to watch.

What a finish by Alex! Doesn't really matter w/c country he represents. What I'm sure of is he's 100% Filipino by blood

thorpe is a good player but he played so passively that last game, he deserved to lose--passed up so many free banks,it was unreal--i kept thinking how many guys i know that arent pros, that would have shot and made so many of those free banks, some with position.......

Why did Billy Thorpe win the One Pocket division?

At 40:30 (game 3) Alex is ahead 7-3. However, instead of playing conservatively and being nearly certain to win, he tried several aggressive shots and lost the game. I don't understand why he'd do that.

What should players do if there arent enough balls for a player to run out in in one inning? For example, owing one ball initially with no balls in my pocket so a total score of -1, my inning begins. My opponent has 7 balls made which leaves 8 balls on the table for me to run, but I need 9, how should we proceed? I don't have a ball to spot and I dont think my opponent spots a ball before the inning begins. Do I spot the first ball I make and then continue the inning? I dont know what to do here. thx in advance, Cheers

They will spot one of the pocketed balls
@MrGoodbye23 Жыл бұрын
@@ruskyhrahsel7723 so if I make all of the balls on the table and my score is at 7, -1 + 8, I then spot one of my balls to continue the inning?

at 1:38 alex had a nice kick on the 1 ball which surely would have put some pressure on billy--he either didnt see it or passed it by.... free agressive shot........

6:42 - why does Thorpe spot the ball he made in Alex's pocket? I've always played it stays down.
@jefflawrence87896 жыл бұрын
He makes the one ball in the side pocket as well, which he spots up.
@jefflawrence87896 жыл бұрын

At the end of game 3 both players had 5. Alex banked the 8 to give him 6. Billy conceded the game before the balls even stopped. These guys both play well, but to give up 2 balls and the game is a STUPID move, especially after the mistakes Alex had just made previously!
@donjocson23117 жыл бұрын
That's his last ball - total of 8 against 5 of Thorpe with 2 balls remaining. Are you counting?
@RelentlessSun7 жыл бұрын
Don't ask if they're counting if you aren't. 1951rlc was right, it was his sixth ball and Thorpe conceded.

He is , born in the Philippines, grew up in Philippines to age 13 and then migrated to Canada. He is now a dual Canadian-Filipino citizen.
@arpeemac7 жыл бұрын
he's been in Canada for more than 20 years yet he still speaks English like a Filipino. he looks like a Filipino and definitely plays pool like a Filipino.
@Aspirahful7 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say he plays pool like a Filipino, he plays more Canadian-like. Solid and compact stroke, not loose. Hits the ball really really pure.
@arpeemac7 жыл бұрын
sorry but i didnt know there was a "canadian style" of pool playing. or is it the snooker stroke that you're referring to, because alex plays snooker too.
@Aspirahful7 жыл бұрын
arpeemac not really, most Canadian players out here shoot like that lol. compact and snooker like pause stroke. but yes you're correct, not Canadian like, snooker like he doesn't play like a Filipino at all.
