The album is simply great, Battle Beast once again lets it "rip" and really goes straight to the full max. 🤘🔥 And Noora once again sings her heart out and blows you straight away! 🌀🌪🌀 You said it aptly: Her voice is like piercing through your soul.

It's interesting that you mention Janis Joplin. Noora has said before that she almost only sang with clean vocals before she heard Janis Joplin. She got inspired by Janis' singing and started to put more rasp in her own.

Always the case? Oh, no! Noora sings rock, blues, jazz and pop in addition to metal, even country (listen "Piece of my Heart" the Seagulls version - oops sorry, remembered the wrong song first). In fact she often sings with clean vocals, no raspiness at all. In Battle Beast's "Black Ninja" she sings really angelic clean vocals, in addition to raspy. And Janice Joplin, well, Noora likes to sing Janice's songs. - The chorus gives me The Dark Element vibes. But then TDE has Anette and so did Nightwish... so maybe it is quite possible it's Anette vibes that I get. And nice two guitar solos in this song too, keeping it peppy. That a bit faded "wings of light" Noora sings in the end... nice idea, in fact my fav vocal part.

See their album "Battle Beast" and you'll hear that smoky layer a lot more - but in different variants. Their best album, in my opinion. Edit: This song reminds me about Nightwish as well in a couple of places!

They have actually stated as their goal to be the next Nightwish. Not a carbon copy, but as versatile metal band putting up big and mind-blowing shows. That's of course a bold goal, but you need to push you limits to really shine.

I'll keep on saying it is a good song but very similar to THE DARK ELEMENT songs, especially the chorus of SONGS THE NIGHT SINGS. I still can hear Anette instead of Noora singing this song...
