Water and holy being ranked so differently speaks for metal and zombies and how Ponos has been treating the two. Zombies and their ability to guarentee to take portions of the field with burrow makes holy required for zombie-heavy stages, and their reviving at the worst possible time can cost you the run. While metals are just there at the front, Unchanged from the beginning. I found myself pairing cat base recharge combos with holy blast. Works well on Zamelle stages.

Two of the most cancer traits, yet zombies are mechanically super well designed whereas metals are the complete bottom of the barrel. Interesting to see the cannons reflect the quality of their dynamic.

Man, this video is as fantastic as I expected. The intro to a new segment is hype and well-done, it will go so well with premiere chat spamming wrong guesses to the next rank. I'm so glad he gave regular cannon the spot it deserves (my friends say it's horrible, and I disagree, so happy with #4) and honestly I feel more knowledged on how/when to use Cat Cannons now too. Thunderbolt does a fanatic job, and it's really fun to use too.

bro is not past midgame 💀tbolt is rarely used, hblast should def be at least #2 if not #1. also regular cannon should be 5 since iron wall has some relevant uses, and assassin bear is irrelevant even without regular cannon because of doron, boulder, glass, and even green shell to some extent

I have a way to “fix” the waterblast (more likely keep it exactly the same in usage but…). So a cool way imo to change it would be to first, make it function like the normal and holy blast where it fires a wave type thing instead of just hitting in a single area like breakerblast. Maybe this could come with a slight decrease in the damage to metals, but it was already pretty useless anyways so I think thats fine. Then, to add another niche thing just to fit to concept. What if it also removes any debuffs on cats as well? Because it’s water, it only makes sense. This makes the waterblast a teensy bit more versatile, at least better than the state it is now. Metal has been powercrept so much that I think this would be a fine change.

I can imagine waterblast shooting a jet of water from a hose on end to end for the fire type. Cleansing mechanic also seems really cool, but removing debuffs seems to be more like worse version of curse. Cleanse could do something like healing, we already have that mechanic coded in the game with cat god miracles.

Surge cannon makes perfect sense. The enemies have normal and curse doge base cannons along with a surge cannon, it’s time for us to get a surge cannon.

One thing you forgot to mention is that some cannons affect zombie corpses as well, most notably HBlast and BBlast, the former of which allows ZKill snipes on enemies like Baron Peng and Daboo.

Here is an idea for a surge cannon, instead of rng like the doge surge base, you can hold down the fire button for the surge to farther down, and release when you want it to fire, this may distract your meat shielding, but this could be a great bore jr counter

2:51 Water blast doesn't always deal 1 damage. It does 0.1% of the enemy's current health. Does this almost always equal one? Yes. BUT there is one really neat edge case with an enemy that has really high HP (so that 0.1% isn't just 1 damage) and a lot of knockbacks. 7's water blast clip against metafilibuster will always be one of if not my favorite battle cats strategies.

Kinda wish waterblast also applied something like a weaken effect on metals. It’s weird that holy blast gets to be the ultimate anti zombie tool while waterblast is the cannon you begrudgingly pick when sir metal seal magnification becomes too high Personally I would put Iron Wall over Slow Beam but besides that I agree with the list

I have an idea to buff Curseblast. Replace the vanilla Curse debuff inflicted by the cannon, with an "enhanced" version of Curse, that disables more enemy abilities like Waves, Surges, Toxic, Crit/Savage. Also, Curseblast should also Weaken enemies as well. EDIT: I didn't realize Curse doesn't nullify enemy immunities. Let's change that with Curseblast's new & enhanced Curse effect.

They could also just pump up the duration of the curse for a really long time (talking like 30~50s) so that it makes it worth while to curse an enemy with the cannon.

What does the foundation and style do? Ive been playing for 7 years now and still dont know

Style reduces the effects certain enemy debuffs or abilities (ex: Iron wall style reduces damage from enemy wave attacks) and foundations decrease damage from specific enemy traits (ex: curse cannon foundation reduces damage from relic enemies). Both style and foundation reductions go up to 15% respectively.

@@XskullDrSkull Not that, i mean against Winged Pigge in SoL, allowing awakened bahamut to tear like half of it's HP off. The sole reason why those stages are even possible, considering wigge is HELL if you don't own ramen. Another example is lady in the clink. Stacking dancers on the duches and using a.baha + IDI along with curseblast basically destroys the whole level. obv with gacha units curseblast is barely a necessity, and the rest of the ranking couldn't be more accurate
