Fun fact: Enemy with Sage trait have a hidden stat that let them resist 70% of any kind of CC (which mean if you freeze, slow or weaken it for 3 seconds, it will reduce to 0.9 seconds). You need a new ability call Sage slayer to ignore it.

Ponos just hates debuffs in general. They added relics that can curse and turn off debuffs, they added akus with persistent shield that can ignore debuffs and now they add sage that can resist debuffs. Ponos update log shows how much they hate debuffs in their game.

I don't know about this but the concept of a anthropomorphic personification of philosophy was actually a faceless statue of Socrates was actually an obsure but brilliant idea and somewhat it executed perfectly among the current state of The Cat Army's adventure and journey.

Based from this stage, my guess is that almost all legends from Zero Legend would be philosophers, and then one Legend unit would probably be another ururun member lmao I wonder what the next philosopher would be....

The cat unit also has summon, which isn’t like you’d imagine. You just press the icon after you’ve deployed and where the cat unit is that is where the unit that you summon is, but it has a one time use and I think it’s per cat unit of Socrates that is deployed, so you can use it once if there’s only one Socrates and I think you have to use it before you can deploy another Socrates and the summoned unit has a range and it does its effect, and then it disappears

prediction i had from fest ubers: their true forms obviously have to be impactful, useful, and slightly game changing, so battle cats likely waited until the release of the next trait (sage in this case) to make their true forms centered around that or something similar.

I am assuming the sage subtyping is something we will only really see on bosses for ZL. As it only makes sense for them to be sage subtype since the cat army is seeking out these guys by an ancient god. I wonder if this will play into the true final boss for the battle cats.

I don't know if I'm being cocky or not, but this stage actually looks pretty easy if you just have a meatshield lineup. With other bosses, there's usually a horde of peons to sponge up attacks and demolish your meatshields so the boss can rip your backliners apart, but here Socrates only has intermittent Dark Doges backing him up. Just spam a bunch of $75 meatshields or cat variants and he's probably not going anywhere.

Prolly not. This seems like the kind of boss to need either dedicated anti-floating units or already insanely tanky units. Also, pai pai is probably too expensive as a tank in this stage.

I think it works as introductionary stage (UL 1 also only had 2 enemies). If Ponos even went with Gabriels or worse this stage would have been bordering impossible without carry. Socrates is like Heavenly Tower bosses more than capable to pose a serious threat on his own.

I'm not really a fan that they keep aiming for subtraits. I'm very curious of sage actually being a trait tbh, bc I feel like it would probably look like a unique faction among the others like relics. we'll just have to see what they bring to the table with this new subtrait before disliking it :/

Except this stage is pretty damn hard because Btrain at level 50 cant actually one shot the Doge Darks here, and this stage destroys midrangers and frontliners in seconds. You cant permastall it with rock either, even metal cat strats have to take some hits. This IS the hardest ZL stage right now.

@@bosssnurp5912 Socrates has an absurdily fast attack rate, so he will quickly cover the distance between rocks and destroy your backline with rapid 24k dmg hits and a long freeze. His entire kit is made around pushing hard
