I feel like that intro is iconic for some reason. It defines these games for me.

Palkia: pearls on it's shoulders, power to it's arms, that tear through spatial dimensions. Dialga: Diamond on it's throat, power to it's voice, that dominates and commands the flow of time.

Hoenn: trumpets Sinnoh: pianos **and bass** ***and Jazz***

That piano at the beginning is epic. It didn't need to be loud or angry at all to be badass.

I like Gen 4's use of oddly calm music during big climactic fights. The Arceus theme is so minimalistic it's almost creepy.

Dialga was actually the first Pokémon I ever caught. I had a used copy of Diamond which went up to the point where you fought Cyrus, then catch Dialga. I remember I nicknamed it Diamond, so to this day every time I catch a Dialga I name it Diamond.

WTF WHY IS THIS SO GOOD!? It's so much longer than most pokemon songs, there's just more to it. I especially like the part at 2:07 where just for a second you think it finally loops and then it just keeps going for 30 seconds.

What I like about this one is that it really makes you feel you're being tested by a majestic deity rather than being threatened to be eaten alive by a false god or something.

When i faced off with Dialga he was a different color? Than i switched my game off and he was back to blue and white again, geez i thought it broke.

People who stopped playing in 2006-7 were probably so excited to see what's after fighting LITERAL GODS. Little did they know 5 gens later, we're just fighting two monitor lizards who like sandwiches

Gen 4 was drastically different in certain aspects for a reason. Gamefreak really wanted to build on the Pokemon world and lore starting here

I know no one’s gonna read this but I’m distracted from homework anyway soooooooo Y’know, taking astronomy helps you realize why Cyrus and team galactic only needed one of the time space duo to actually achieve his goals. Now, I know, doesn’t Dialga only control time with Palkia only controlling space? While yes that’s true... the fact of the matter is that Cyrus used them to *create* time/space respectively. I suppose I should state that when the universe got created, the spacetime continuum began? And that time and space are intimately linked together? Well, within an empty space, time is meaningless, and without time, space cannot grow. Tl;dr, spacetime is connected, and you can’t have one without the other, so Cyrus only needed one of the legends

One of a favorite music tracks to listen too in Pokemon Diamond. (And yeah Pearl too, but Diamond was the first Pokemon game I ever played)

gen 1: a cat gen 2: two birds gen 3: two titans and flying sanke gen 4: *THE GODS OF SPACE AND TIME* gen 5: three dragons who can fusion gen 6: an X and a Y (technically gods of life and death) gen 7: the sun and the moon (their heralds... I guess) gen 8: two wolves, a kind of... weird... rare... dragon or something... ughhhh... gen 8 (DLC): teddy bear

I remember having to listen to the first 7 seconds of the song hundreds of times because I was hunting for both Shiny Dialga and Shiny Palkia in USUM. Good times...

Say whatever you want about other legendaries, this is one of the most iconic of all time, up there with Ho-oh

So in gen 1, we had rare birbs and an experiment gone wrong. Alright. In gen 2 we have the more godlike pokemon, guardian of the sea and a sacred birb said to bestow eternal joy, as well as the beasts said birb created by resurrecting them. Okay. In gen 3 we have way more threat, in two primordial monsters that shaped the land and sea, as well as the divine dragon keeping them in check. We also have a pair of dragons, who brother and sister, and a trio of golems. Now, we have a trio of ASPECTS OF THE UNIVERSE ITSELF alongside the embodiments of spirit, formed by Willpower, Knowledge, and Emotion, as well as a lava monster, a titan that can tow continents, the bringer of good and bad dreams, a hedgehog thing and the CREATOR OF ALL. Jesus, that was a big jump.

How have I not yet realized that Dialga starts with D for Diamond and Palkia starts with P for Pearl?!?!?

Gen 4 always seemed like it should've been the final entry in the mainline games to me. After revealing the gods of the verse, everything else just felt kind of lackluster. They should never have made these mons catchable. Newer legendaries would still feel special. They're supposed to be legends among legends.

I just came up with a theory on why Palkia and Dialga have the gems where they are Palkia has the Pearl on its arm to power it and allows it to tear through space and manipulate it Dialga has the diamond on its chest to power its already powerful roar and change time

i was screaming when i first caught palkia in 2008 summer, it will always be my favorite legendary theme
