Agree. Gen 8 really broke the bar and the celing with the gym battles. it's not you agains a dude in his building where no one else can see. You have to get recognized by someone in the league to get in and all battles are in a big stadium with hundreds or thousand of people, plus it get to the tv. You go from someone with no fan to slowly get fans everywhere. No game before or after made me so hyped of challenging gym leaders as this game.

@@lightdx7008yeah Galar’s league is crazy. In the anime Lance is said to come from the Hammerlocke gym and became an E4 then a champion, that’s why the dragon uniform is similar to his outfit. I’m curious as to how other E4 or gym leaders stand against them though… would they even win in a battle against Milo despite Milo going easy? Would they match well against Allister who’s younger than the protagonist and is tougher than some more experienced trainers?

Not really, the claim of raihan being able to become the champions in other region is just what his fans think, hell, he’s even being called “galar’s strongest gym leader” despite that’s clearly wrong, there’s two gym leaders in galar that were pretty much confirmed to be stronger than him being piers (who is evenly matched with raihan despite having an self imposed handicap) and melony (who claps raihan every time they fought despite weak to half of raihan’s team). While in the anime, raihan is barely stronger than flint and drasna(who aren’t even the strongest E4 btw) and massively weaker than every single champion (including Alain, who isn’t even an actual champion)

If you’re referring to the one in black and purple, that’s Allister. He’s the ghost type gym leader exclusive to shield. In sword Bea the fighting type leader takes his place

Honestly even the Pokémon company themselves obliterated the in-game theme. The elite leader theme from the same game is infinitely better, and the version from the anime blows both of them out of the park
