After 120 plays with my wife, I would say that replay value is pretty good...

Hi Dan, there is so many things that I like in your reviews: the professional animations, the clear rules explanation and your great opinion at the end. All in all it's a really professional work. So please don't overestimate my next tiny complain or should I say constructive criticism. All your reviews look so consistent except of one thing: the video clips or pictures to support your introduction in the theme. I took this review because it's such a typical example. You present a game about ancient warfare in old rome/greek but you show a clip with a canon and talk about artillery which I think isn't in the game at all. For me it ruins the consistency of your professional and great reviews. There are many more examples like the game about asian junks introduced by clips with modern ships, the same with pirate theme games... ok, ok. I know it's just a little detail. Maybe it's just me who is irritated by the film clips. I just wanted you to know.

I agree with you and have noticed the same things with the intros as well. I do like Dan's work too and have been commented on his videos before saying that I find them insightful and enjoyable, but you are right with this, there shouldn't be images of things in the intro which have not got much to do with the game, or at least they are not the correct types. Apart from this, I'm Team Dan! :)

TheGameBoyGeek - Hi Quality Hi Energy Board Game Reviews I have watched many of your review videos. Keep up the good work! I noticed that you haven't mentioned anything negative about Battle Line, even though (to you) it is only a "solid" game. Can you share what makes Lost Cities so much better to you than Battle Line?

Keith Li For me Lost cities falls in that category I love which is simple, yet still gives you a lot of tough decisions. Plus If I can play it with my wife and she likes it (especially for 2 player games) that's a huge plus. Battle Line was too thinky for her. It's still pretty simple but has more meat than Lost Cities. Not that more meat is bad, but the simple elegance of Lost Cities is why I like that one better. However I could see many people liking battle Line better. It just comes down to a personal taste thing.

I like the gameplay of this game, which is identical to Schotten Totten. However ST is the better game IMO because of the artwork, the colors and the tiles (instead of flags). The new version of ST also comes with the tactics cards.
