In fact, the sum based on “number of glasses” is not correctly constructed, so it is unfair of giving it because it is confusing. 6 months means a half of a year, and there are 52 weeks for a year, so the half of 52 means 26 weeks. There are 6 shows per week, and 2.5 glasses of wine are drunk after each show, so 6*2.5 = 15, and 15*26 = 390 (glasses).

The kids are smart and can study well and understand stuff faster. These kids are not memory geniuses and don't have a photographic memory, the kids lost fair and square.

no it's not. 2.5 glasses per show x 6 shows a week = 15 glasses per week. 6 months is half of a year, which has 52 weeks so there are 26 weeks in 6 months. 15 glasses per week x 26 weeks per 6 months = 390 glasses in 6 months

Yes I definitely understand your point; the problem isn't clear enough. Maybe if they would have said "half a year" it would've been more clear that the idea of the problem was to divide the total (integer) number of weeks in a year by two. Also, averaging the weeks from January to June gives 388 glasses of wine, not 381. You can check the math by doing (31+28+31+30+31+30)/7 *6*2.5.

Your math is right but your method is wrong. For example, you are saying 31 days is 4.3 weeks, but actually, using the more accurate method of taking a week to be seven days, 31 days is actually 31/7=4.42 days, a bit more.
