Good overview/comparison of the two clamps. I didn’t know about the Can-Do either but I’ll keep it in mind. It’s nice to know you can support it with a 3/4” scrap if you need to because it will make our lives much easier during assembly.

Thanks Gary! It’s been a surprisingly great clamp so far. Depending on future projects, I can easily see myself having 4, or even 6 in the shop.

Thanks for the video! I had never seen the can-do clamp. How are they each on marking or marring the surfaces?

I hadn't heard much about the Can-Do clamp myself before coming across it when looking at some other MLCS products - I'm genuinely impressed with it! As for marking and marring, I'd say I've experience essentially none with the Kreg clamp and the MLCS Can-Do is still leaving a bit of red pain residue (easily brushes off), although I've only used it on a couple of projects so far. Nothing beyond that, thankfully! It still bothers me when I find little circular indentations on my early projects form some cheap f-style clamps.

I need to look into a 90* clamp. My go-to is just using spring clamps and a speed square- both of those look preferable to my method 😂

So would one of each basicly do enough to make cabinets, or is multible of each a necesity? Also. Did you pocket drill free hand, or did you use some pocket drill guiding tool? Thanks✌️

You could definitely get away with just one! I have two now and would like to add another two, but I used one for quite a few cabinets without issue. For pocket holes, I’ve been using the Kreg 720 Pro for a few years (Kreg K5 before that).

Both better than the HF strap clamps I bet? Now I have to go out and buy more clamps.

Haha, definitely better than those unwieldy strap clamps! Although, I'm planning to scoop up one of those MLCS "Merle" band clamps...basically a strap clamp that's less chaotic.

I have had the Merle clamp for 20 years and it is really handy when you need it. The Can Do clamps do seem to be a better solution, however.

There's a lot of debate about accuracy of clamps like these, so it would have been more useful if you'd actually got a proper square-edge to check whether they're truly square rather than relying on checking it by eye.

That’s a great point, thanks for noting it! Squareness would be particularly important when working on something that’s exposed, such as shelves. For me, I don’t generally need it to be absolutely perfect as that often comes down to the joinery being used. If I’m doing a cabinet carcass, I don’t worry too much about being perfectly square until I have all sides joined and even then the top will add additional support to get perfect square.
