I love your videos. you're always read up and well informed, very descriptive in sharing your experiences, and helpful with your suggestions. I think you would be great as product tester professionally. I know I appreciate your critiques personally. Anyway, thank you for your videos and I look forward to seeing more videos.

Just an fyi , the green one doesn't have lanolin nor protein in it anymore , I know this video is old , but they've changed the formula for the better ... my hair is kinky curley .... any kind of oil in a gel for kinky curley girls like me is good ! Our hair loves it ;)

What kind of cap do you sleep in? And could you do an updated curly girl routine video? Thanks for all the great information! I'm going to try some of these!

I have a satin-lined cap from Sally Beauty that I sleep in. I'm actually going to touch on that in my next video, which is a how to transition/starter products for the Curly Girl Method. I've filmed it, but I have to edit it. And an updated routine is on my list :) Good luck!

thank you for the video! I been using the blue but had problems far as getting the crunch out. I have been wondering about the others. So with the yellow you don't have the problem with your hair being crunchy or with getting the crunch out?
@CurlyKatMarie
@CurlyKatMarie 10 жыл бұрын
I don't have issues getting the crunch out :) I have to ruffle my hair at the roots a little and/or scrunch it in my hands to get it out, but it's much easier than the blue, at least to me.

Hi! Love your videos. I'm curly, too, and have just started to try some gels from the L.A. Looks line. The other day (at Dollar Tree) I stumbled upon a tube of the L.A. Looks Extreme Sport Gel (blue color) and thought I'd try it. You mention, based on the stickiness you feel on your hands after application, that the green mega hold L.A. Looks gel may produce buildup over time. How about the Blue Extreme Sport gel and the yellow mega mega gel (your favorite)? Have you observed these two (the blue and yellow) to produce buildup over time? I ask because I'd like to keep from having to shampoo to remove build-up. I prefer to stick with conditioner wash only, as shampoo (even expensive, good quality shampoos) tangles my hair terribly. Thanks, and keep up the great work! Your advice is truly appreciated! : ) P.S. Are there any shampoos you can recommend that do not cause tangling?

+CowgirlsDelight First of all, thanks! I'm always happy to hear people like my videos. 1. As far as I can tell, no, I haven't had any buildup issues with the blue or yellow gels. 2. As for shampoos, have you tried SheaMoisture shampoos? With regard to detangling specifically, some are better than others. When I was using the raw shea butter one (tan with gold label), I could detangle my hair just from the shampoo if I wanted to. I think that one is the heaviest of their shampoos, since that line emphasizes shea butter, so if your hair is low porosity or easily weighed down, it might not be the best one for you. The manuka honey one (Target exclusive, maroon with gold label) performs similarly, as does the coconut and hibiscus one (pink label), as I remember (been a while since I've used it). P.S. What is your detangling routine like? Do you use conditioner when you detangle? That would help a lot.

+Curly Kat Marie Thanks for the prompt reply! Good news to hear that the blue and yellow gels appear to produce no buildup over time. I have the blue gel now, and I'm looking forward to trying the yellow one in the near future. I just used the blue gel for the very first time a couple days ago, and, I have to say, so far, I'm rather impressed. Thanks, also, for the advice regarding shampoos. Of course, I'm looking forward to trying the SheaMoisture shampoo line. I will definitely try all three (Raw Shea Butter, Manuka Honey and Coconut and Hibiscus). I don't have a detangling routing right now; one is not really needed as long as I wash my hair with conditioner only. Tangles come out quite easily. Awful tangling occurs only when I use shampoo (even when shampooing is followed by generous conditioning). I'm hoping the SheaMoisture shampoo line is the answer to my shampoo dilemma! Thanks again so very much, and may you have a wonderful day! You're awesome! : )

No problem! Also, if you're in need of a good detangling conditioner for after you wash, I recommend either the Generic Value Products (GVP) Conditioning Balm from Sally Beauty, or either the Perfectly Undone or Naturals conditioners from TreSemme. :)

Tie between the Mega Mega (yellow) and Sport (dark blue). The only difference is the level of hold. Both have a good strong hold, but the Sport is stronger, to the point of being a little difficult to scrunch out sometimes.

Since you are very knowledgeable about curly hair, I HOPE you can somewhat know the answer to this question, I am a bit sad, or very indeed, from having curly hair like yours exactly now I have wavy to straight hair, HOW IN THE WORLD DID THAT HAPPEN ;(
@CurlyKatMarie
@CurlyKatMarie 10 жыл бұрын
My first guess would be the weather where you are. My curls tend to be limper and more elongated in the winter months because there's less humidity in the air. I don't know where you are, but it could be that you're going through the same thing. If you've been heat-styling your hair at all, that can interfere with your texture as well because you're basically forcing your hair to be something it's not. Also, is it possible that this could be hormonal? I think I've heard of women's hair changing texture during or after pregnancy due to the changes in their hormone levels, so maybe that could be a factor? The last one is probably a stretch, but those are just my ideas. Hope this helps :)
