The steering wheel in the EV9 is capacitive, meaning you don't have to give input to the steering wheel, all you have to do is touch it. You get around 2 and half to three minutes worth without having to touch the wheel. Also the Land, and GT line have auto lane change because those trims have HDA2.

Believe the LAND and GT-Line trims have HDA2 rather than HDA so can do lane changes, etc

This answered some questions I had about Wind vs Land or GT-Line trims. I believe Land and higher on EV9 have automatic lane change and will show traffic in lanes next to you. I believe it’s because the higher trims have side proximity sensors, in addition to front and rear, and extra radar modules in the front. If it’s like my EV6, it’s only when some navigation data isn’t available, like outside of major cities, that turning on lane centering is a two step process. When I’m in a major city when I press the cruise control button it automatically turns on lane centering, but if I’m in a rural area, it doesn’t.

Kia has enhanced autopilot in higher trims. Its has auto lane chnages, you can turn off auto steer by hokd button (wheel sign) on steering wheel. The auto engagement is a feature. So if you chnage lane, it will reengage after changing lane. (tesla you have to manually reengage). Kia also can detect other vehicles, just doesn't show on the screen. It has collision avoidance system. Means if something is blind spot and coming towards your car, it will try to avoid depending on your surroundings. With kia, you can have autopilot on and you can turn off autos tear off if you like to drive it yourself. Also if you set the cruise control on and set at speed limit of the road, it will increase the speed or decrease the speed according to road speed limit. They have some KZfaq videos on their cruise system. Check it out

So there is no change from the previous models? I'm a little disappointed. I have a 2022 Kia Carnival and I have everything you are talking about. What bothers me is that it turns off by itself without any warning. For example, when the road curves a little, it turns off and you can go to the side, which is really dangerous. In addition, inside the city, he does not know how to maintain the lane and only distance maintenance works. In Tesla it is not like that

@@moshe2401 it maintains the lane in the city as well. Not sure what more you wanted it to do? My Tesla still doesn't have reliable FSD. I actually trust my EV9s autopilot more than my Teslas.

I rented FSD beta in December to try it before buying it. I did a 2000 mile road trip and 700 miles of it was raining at night. The 1 major draw-back was my speed was limited to 65mph for a lot of it because of "poor visibility". FSD Beta never disengaged, never missed an exit, and got me from supercharger to supercharger without fail during the entire road trip. The only thing I did was parking and charging. What I can tell you is, FSD is so much more advanced and human like than Enhanced Auto-pilot.

I was going to make a similar video between my Model 3 and EV9 GT-LINE. Since the Tesla update, there is no comparison..... The EV9's system is superior for me in almost every way over standard autopilot. As others have mentioned, the GT-Line does do auto lane change. The only thing that Autopilot does better for me is lane centering. On some roads the EV9 will wander more than I like.

I bought my Model Y two years ago and 100% regret it. I should have waited for more electric cars in the market. I paid $60k out of the door for the car and no tax credit, I would have had much better options now for that money including the federal tax credit.

Very interesting video. I had a Kia rental (ICE) recently and was rather shocked by the land center or whatever it's called. It would disengage literally all the time by itself (every ~20sec on country roads, every ~1 minute on highways. ANd it would NOT give ANY indication apart from a very small visual indicator in the display (~7x7mm). NO audible indication. That thing was SUPER dangerous. Is this also the case hiere in the EV9? On the other hand what I DID like was that it automatically re-engages all by itself. That's obviously different in the Tesla - but the Tesla is driving rather recklessly as well: if on autopilot (even basic) it will try to overtake on the right-hand side - not sure about the US but here in germany this is absolutely totally forbidden, SUPER dangerous (because no one suspects you and bacuase of very high different speeds). I can not fathom why they still after all these years haven't fixed it. Also in very slow traffic (traffic jam / slow moving) obviously it's mandatory if you are in the left lane, to go all the way to the left as far as possible to make way for emergency services. And Tesla can't do that. It will ALWAYS default to the center of the lane, making me the one car standing out on the whole highway. Super emberassing and forbidden. So I basically can't use autopilot when it would be the most useful: in slow and tiresome traffic. So all in all I would say both have SERIOUS safety flaws and especially in the Tesla I just don''t get it why Tesla won't fix this. It's not that hard: If there's a car left of you, DON'T OVERTAKE. It's that simple.

You don't need that much visuals, you need to keep your eyes on the road, not on the visuals.

Kia doesn't phantom brake. That alone makes the EV9 way better than autopilot.

I think if you buy FSD in a 2017, they upgrade your MCU to hardware 3, because hardware 2 wasn't enough they determined.

Could be great if you put the Kia on road with more curves, my 2021 kia couldn't handle curves
