This is the main battle theme I composed for an RPG I'm working on currently. I haven't yet decided if this will be used for the finished product so consider it a beta mix if you will. I may decided to use actually instrumentation instead on 8-bit famitracker for the final product.
Feedback is as always appreciated.
also you might be pleased to hear this, but two weeks from now I will be releasing a remix of Ba'al theme (if I finish it in time of course)

I want to start by saying that this piece is awesome My only worry is that the intro section will get really repetitive with repeat battles. In my experience the best general-use combat tracks are the ones that skip the big dramatic intros and jump straight into the meat of the song. Big, over the top pieces work great for climactic boss fights, but can get very repetitive if the player hears it over and over. Examples of what I mean: Battle 1 - Chrono Trigger: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r62Aa9Fmu823nYU.html It's Crash Could Not be Denied - Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o7h2e66Z1Mi4cqs.html Sinister Sundown - Kingdom Hearts 2: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hLt-qZeoscm3n58.html This is all, of course, merely my opinion, and their are plenty of examples of successful RPGs that include similar over the top intros in their battle themes.

Yep! I've been working on some ideas for boss themes and the such but so far I haven't settled on anything.

I'm not one for musical knowledge, but isn't this a bit too fanfaric/intense for a theme that's supposed to play for something relatively common?

I think I set the tempo to be too fast for this song, and that causes it to sound a little bit more intense than it needs to be. I also don't think there is anything inherently wrong with having an intense normal battle theme as long as the boss themes surpass it. For example listen to these normal battle themes from golden sun and xenoblade chronicles kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rciPra-a2desYaM.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNaKrbB_35emg58.html

Check out the main battle theme for Golden Sun good example of something intense that was used for a relatively common thing

You seem to have too many sound expansions active at once. To my knowledge, you can only have one active at a time. Please, do enlighten me as to how you did that.

absoluteAquarian I did this using a version of famitracker called OCC-famitracker. It's a mod that adds a variety of new features, such as having the ability to use multiple expansion chips. Look it up online and the download should just pop up.
