no! kept going right into the spinner while the opponent was almost immobile, going randomly full reverse slamming himself in the wall as soon as he lift the opponent instead of taking him into the screws or in a corner tu get him out. pilot couldn't keep up panicky an probably bot too fast for him to get good control.

What an incredible glow-up for Claw Viper this year. We saw moments of this kind of dominance in last year's fight between Claw Viper and Bloodsport, but this was absolutely next level. Between the insane speed, much better grappling hardware and Kevin's driving I think we have a possible meta killer on our hands, after 3 wins I look forward to seeing how far in the tourney it can go.

Right hahaha. I like ribbot, but cmon guy... you are limping around begging the other guy to come towards you (the other guy was just planning his attacks and timing). Such a cowardly/childish thing to say.

1:47, that's the laugh of a person who knows exactly what to do to win and knows there's nothing they can do about it. Claw Viper might well become the most terrifying grappler bot in the sport going forward.

Apparently this fight did more damage to the arena than any of the others we've seen so far. No small wonder Ribbot's weapon and drive were busted by the end of this.

It's soooo crazy that Claw Viper, a robot that in the MAIN competition prior to this only scored two wins, managed to get 3 dominant victories and one of those was Ribbot! I haven't seen a genuine clamp control robot perform sooo well since Complete Control beating Bombshell in 2016! Easily my favorite bot of the season so far and I can't wait for it to fight Hypershock!

@@jonaswerner8480 Not really, the grappler is a different shape and the wheels are more exposed. A flamethrower might also take up weight that is being used for the magnets or armor

Claw viper is such a beautiful bot. Since they focus on speed so much they almost always win agression and with their solid lifter they can take control and set up pins/coutouts. But the craziest part is that since they are so fast getting slammed into a wall by then can do some serious damage. Here they disabled part ribbots drive and its weapon, and ribbot is one of the most reliable bots in the enitre series.

It’s a perfect design. There really isn’t a bot that can deal with Claw Viper’s insane pressure. It’s crazy how they pretty much rely entirely on their speed and it leads to a bot that can dominate in all 3 categories

Great to see viper finally get its footing! Excited to see more from them. I don’t think I’ve seen speed and power close to that since storm II in old robot wars, love the “body hammer” logic behind these kinds of machines and it’s great to see one have such success

The control is insane. It's clear that magnet system they're using for more control is helping greatly. The thing flew across the arena in similar fashion to those Japanese sumo robots.

Pretty surprising how well Claw Viper not only took a few hits, but dished damage out. Was most certainly not expecting much damage from a modified flipping style robot, that speed and maneuverability was incredible! Wanna drive the thing just for fun. 😂

Claw Viper using speed as a weapon reminds me of the days when rambots where allowed, Which honestly with how powerful modern spinners are I think is a missed opportunity. A modern rambot could be so incredibly fast its impact would be just as interesting as a full body spinner, I guess the real danger would be such bot ramping of another directly into the safety glass.

I feel like control/grappling would be a lot more effective if it was easier to throw bots out of the ring, as there's only a narrow space around the ring where its possible. Claw Viper could've dumped Ribbot where ever he wanted through half this match.

Is Claw Viper made by just these 3 guys? The decision announcement at the end was hilarious, 3 guys with one barely making it back in time vs a team of *nine* looking dejected with their plushie frog. Very impressive fight!

Claw Viper reminds me of Tornado from old Robot Wars in that it's able to win fights with speed and by repeatedly ramming the opponent until they break.

@@calebrobotart storm 2 was also epic. And I see there's some bots that seems to be modernized versions of old and successful designs. I use to say that Hydra it reminds me a lot to Biohazard from the CC BattleBots.

Amazing fight!! Although just saying, if those new corner walls weren't there, Claw Viper would've gotten possibly the best out-of-the-arena in BattleBots history and this would've gone down as one of the best battles of all time

nice fight. Claw viper is fast and it front durable enough to take few hits until he could grab enemy. Not sure if he could stand as good as in this fight against horizontal spin....

Claw Viper did take Bloodsport to a judges' decision last year so I doubt Ribbot's undercutter setup would have done much better other than maybe damaging the lifter a bit more.

I love Claw Viper that speed is just amazing. I wonder what would happen if they just went without any active weapon and instead just some hardened steel or tungsten spikes at the front to to concentrate the entire mass of the robot at one point of impact.
