Dare I put another couple hours into the game? And has anyone else recently played this game? What are your thoughts?

The higher up who decided the direction of battlefield forgot the fact that we play battlefield not only because of the destruction but also the fact we are part of a millitary force not special ops shenanigan like cod.

I agree that the maps feel hollow or fake/plastic-y. Not sure why but I just don't buy them as being real, more like a movie set

I still prefer BF5 or BF1, as do many other people these days. Deep down I wish they'd just continue updating BF5 again, but sadly know it's never going to happen.

Great review! I'm more worried about the future of Battlefield than Halo right now, but they're very different games. The push for "big team battles" like 64 v 64 has never been a pull for me, but the size is one of the major standouts for Battlefield games. I prefer the smaller lobby games, but when Battlefield is hitting at its best, your squad fills that role, and I can focus on just the group I'm spawning on (and reviving). If you like bigger lobbies, there's also the issue of actually filling those lobbies, which very few games can sustain. I wonder how games like Battle Bit are doing on player count now that we're a few months out from their launch. Thanks for making me think about Battlefield for the first time in over a year though, and in a video that takes less than 1 match would to see if it's worth trying again!

Can't get into this game anymore. It disappointed me too much. It's the last game I ever pre-purchased and taught me a lesson to never pre-purchase anything ever again. Huge mistake and it was insanely expensive.

Honestly I don’t think I want to give them another chance just on principle. There are a lot of games these days that ship horribly and eventually get better. The thing is there are other companies working hard too that are able to deliver and even if they aren’t they same type of game, I’d rather show them support than these big major companies that continue to take advantage over the years. I do appreciate the review by the way. The more I thought about it the more I realized I’ll just play Battlebit if I want a BF like experience because I think that game is pretty fun as well.

I’m amazed people still preordered this game after the beta. I’m a huge battlefield fan but as soon as I was done with one match of 2042 in the beta I deleted it and uninstalled. Sad to see battlefield go this way after I sunk a bunch of time in BC2, BF3,4 and 1.

Ive been reminiscing on the amazing times ive had with BF3 and BF4 lately and wanted to rekindle that experience. I think i will give 2042 a shot after this video, thank you

ngl, i really enjoy the current state of 2042, its a huge improvement from the launch, give it a go definitely. I agree that the maps could be better, however if your into sci fi and futuristic games, this is up there ngl

I received this game free on Playstation Plus. Years after the updates and improvements. The game is great! The best part there is bots in the game. This is the first Battlefield game to have bots on conquest and breakthrough modes. I love it! Thank you EA you did us right with adding bots to the game.

Picked it up recently and I am having a blast! Redacted really does feel like Metro. There are very few games that do scale like the Battlefield series and this one has it down.

I really hope they pay attention to the or customers and add a story mode in the next one. I played story more than multiplayer, and look how amazing Battlefield 1 was.

i loved battlefield five, because i was a nerd on ww2, and also i just loved the gameplay and battlefield as a whole, it let me be a casual solo player, something i cant do in other games, you know after 2042 i thought battlefield was done, but after seeing halo infinite and no mans sky get a massive glow up, i wanted to see how battlefield was doing and ill wait till its on sale because i still dont believe its worth 60$ especially with a battle pass. i played bf2042 on the ps4 and i dont have to tell you the rest, its been 3 years since i touched it and the last time was when there wasnt even seasons, i still have a kriss vector skin from the pre season challenges.

64 vs 64 is amazing now. It was unplayable at launch due to poor performance.

Tried this yesterday for the first time in a while. My solo experience was like playing cod shipment with 128 players. Not fun.

I love the Battlefield series and I gave 2042 so many chances. The beta, pre ordering and trying to stick with this “new” direction for the classes. After some time I gave up on the game, it never felt like a Battlefield game. It’s been about 6 months since i played last and 4 months since i deleted it off my console. I hope they make an actual Battlefield next and not continue this ridiculous trend following malarkey.

I bought the gane during black friday sale but it's not working due to EA anti cheat not installing. Any fix or anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but they should have continued with developing Hazard Zone and tied the story of Battlefield 2042 within it in some way. For example, make specific missions in Hazard Zone for every player which they can complete, but they have to not get squad wiped and have to extract for it to count as completed.

EA login with in-game progression save across multiple platforms is WHAT WE NEED FOR THE FUTURE! It's literally why I'll never stop playing, I'll never lose my progress. 🔥🔥 Game is still amazing on PS4 & PS5. I've played on both. Biggest difference is speed & loading between games. (Which is great.)

I only played a few hours of 2042 was so disappointed, I have been playing BF games since 1942 and had many fun times which is now seems to have been missing a lot, they really need to fix this as I have just about done with BF games, it started dropping of since hardline. Its that bad and lacking so much now I have started playing (God forbid) fortnite also BF seems to be heading the same route as COD that's even worse news. Just waiting to see what the next BF will be I have a feeling might be even worse....

so, should i buy bf5 or this one while its 85% off on steam? I play only bf1, and bf5 reminds me kind of it, so im thinking about 2042 but idk if its worth even those 9 euros.

Even I myself as a not so really good player can have fun with this game today. I actually can't believe that I'm saying that lol. I even enjoyed playing payload in portal. But to me this game still isn't even the bare minimum of what ea could do with it. I give it 2 more seasons.

It looks better than it did in the past but I think the reason its never going to compare to BF1 or BF4, which in my opinion are far more stylized and fun compared to this

I hopped back in recently and the bf3 and 4 grounded vibe is very real. The gunplay is snappy and smooth i get like 100+ fps on a very mid system and it doesn't have as many sht talking 12 year old sweats like cod.

Been playing since launch. Left after seasom one. I came back on season 3, and it is my most played game. While it isn't BF4 ( still the best one in my opinion) it is a Battlefield game. Battlefield is my favorite multi-player series.

Gun animations still feel choppy, when the player splints and INSTANTLY poionts the muzzle up? Nah. Guns feel to arcadey for bf.

I remember playing bf1 first night after grabbing it from GameStop on pre order. Was so much fun watching the behemoth fall down after half the lobby was shooting at it. I myself was using artillery gun hahaha idk battlefield now just feels so not battlefield. I see clips of dudes flying on a wing suit killing 80 people with one mag and just seems not even close to realistic. Bf3 I felt like I was legit in the army or something same for bf1. Bf5 is cool but I remember when they used a girl as the cover and that just rubbed me wrong and nobody cared about bf5 the campaign was lackluster except the German tiger mission I liked that

"Tried something new" It copied popular design trends without innovating them in any ways or making them work for what the series was. Titanfall tried something new. The Finals tried something new. Things like Apex or Halo 5 followed popular trends but iterated on them in new ways. Battlefield 2042 just copied things

I reinstalled the game days ago,and i really did like it now.But Enlisted is my no1 war game.Enlisted is amazing ,looks beatiful and very intense ww2 combat scenes that is impressive and its great to join battlefields from the history.. A perfect game for real men,who like to join a more realistic battle

I was going to comment saying no one cares about multiplayer, but then i noticed that the game has no single player, so the multiplayer is the only thing you can make a video about.

Specialists were the dumbest idea they could have made. Taking a tried and true system like classes and throwing it in the gutter really showed me where their priorities were: Call of Duty Operators. And operator skins. Not to mention how even this revamped system they did later on of combining specialists and classes isnt that great. Also the Plus system. That one sucks too.

I actually skipped getting BF2042 for my own reason's , for me i kinda wished EA re'did BF2142 but more updated, i absolutely loved that version of battlefield since it was set more in the future and having that Ice Age and fighting for the last pieces of hospitable land and such between the EU & PAC alliances , also loved using the drop pods from the APC's to attack the enemy teams titan, good times!. I still think BF2042 should revert back to having actual "classes" and not having these kind of "operatives/heroes" Battlefield made more sense with the soldier classes , so everyone knew their job role, unless they've added classes into BF2042 i don't think i will be getting it, even if it is fixed. Honestly i'd rather they re'made BF2142 with the engine or current graphics etc we have now, it'd be so much more cooler imo!.

Well, it's battlefield in worse than before. The large conquest maps feel like they punish you for playing objectives, because the distances are so far that you hardly ever reach them on foot without getting shot by some rando vehicle or sniper. Other players just spawn next to you near objectives. Dunno, that felt a lot better in BFO or the earlier titles. There always was low emphasis on squad play in random lobbies in BF (compared to lets say planetside 1 and 2), but there's even less of that now. People don't use spawn beacons, usually do not resupply, revive chance is 50/50 even with medics around. It play like Call of Duty with rando kills. Which would be fine, if it had the CoD flair of quick kills, quick respawns, short runs to the action, killboard, rinse, repeat. But it hasn't, BF2042 tries to be epic and meaningful but kinda isn't, the iconic modes feel random, the breakthrough mode makes me wanna fire up Modern Warfare. EDIT: The wave of fire sales during the last year or so, 10 bucks for the game, free weekends, kinda cement a critical viewpoint btw.

I got the Ultimate edition for $20 on a great black Friday deal this year, and being a bf4 fan, the game can be fun, especially during peak hours. Bf4 still has better vehicle play and a lot better community servers like bzn and tbg. I never get battlefield games at launch! I just know better. Use your head people and know you have to give EA or dice at least 2 years to polish the games. By that time the gpu prices to play on high settings will be affordable anyway.😮 But for $20 for Ultimate package play in 2023, it's pretty cool. No regrets.

Its still feel very sterile, clean not gritty enough. I really love to play on 64 players server as Maria Falck(medic) I enter the room and kill 5 Marias Falck, 6th Maria Falck kill me. I fall as Maria Falck an the top of 5 Marias Falck bodies next second another Maria Falck from my team enter the room kill Maria Falck from enemy team and revive me. Now there are 2 Marias in a room, with 6 bodies of Marias on the floor. Hero shooters are good for smaller games, not for a battlefield. At last give us options to put helmets on so we can look like a soldiers, not old granny with grey hairs running around the rooms like a weird grandpa dream
