I always played the campaign to get into the story, granted, the campaigns varied in quality... but I always felt getting immersed in the story was important to fully enjoying the multi-player. DICE should never have strayed from the formula.

Then I started watching your videos on KZfaq, and seeing how fun those videos were to watch, I started playing it again and although it can be a frustrating game at times, I think they left it the best they could. I started to play Battlefield since forever, i even played the "predecessor" ..do you remember Return to Castle Wolfenstein ?? ( yeah im old ) ... that game oozed Battlefield vibes already in 2001 ... and then came Battlefield 1942 in 2002 and i was hooked for life

insane clips ! I did support all the battlefields in the last 10-12 years.. more than 2k hours play time in Bf4, 2k+ bf1 , 1k+ hardline , 5k+ BFV , 3k+ BF2042 and S800.. so BF is part of my life in the last almost half of my life.. don;t want to see it going away..

They owed a season 8, to all the long suffering players who kept playing in the hope of improvements and fixes. We paid good money for the game and it was getting better each season. All games come to an end but we were owed a season 8, a proper ending.

The fortification building from BFV needs to be brought back into the series. It is the perfect companion for the destruction

realistically how long before the new Battlefield will be on the shelves? I suppose I was lucky, I wasn't around for the launch when it was bad, I have always loved playing the game and like you always say, where else can you get some of these BF moments, even for someone who isn't the best , there's always something that makes the game worth playing, carry on the great work Squid.

Ok, I'm going to just throw this out there... while I hated the "hero" mechanic at the start of BF2042's life, once they were put into classes I really don't mind it. If the next game also has three or four characters per class I would be fine with it. The only caveat is that there has to be different characters between the different factions. No more Boris v Boris encounters.

Love your videos. Watch them everyday. I actually watch your channel because of your positivity! Too many videos on KZfaq that are just negative and i dont need that for bf or in life in general. I actually really enjoyed bf2042 with the updates, actually more than bf5 tbh. For the next bf i would just love a bf3 like experience - current day, maps that balance infantry AND vehicles, a proper class system, destruction and sand box. I hope portal is brought to it too, that is just so good...

Being honest as a final update we should have all portal weapons in the main experience because portal is pretty much dead

As a big fan of battlefield for many years now, these last three titles have had some disappointments, but the overall play and sandbox mayhem that we all truly enjoy, has always been there, and I truly hope that the next one will at launch, bring an even better experience. Keep the videos coming, because this game will be played by me and many others in the community till the next title comes our way. I have every faith you will reach 100k squid. Even after it was announced 2042 was ending. I’ve seen your channel still gain a couple hundred subs. Your content is always amazing regardless.

Give me the class system back, more destructible buildings and some kind of progression and were set. My biggest problem with 2042 is once you have attachments for guns you like there isnt much to work towards after that.

Me and my teenage sons love watching your channel. We cannot afford a PS4 or 5 so this is the next best thing. Hopefully there will still be a multiplayer community on this game when we can 😂

I really hope they do something cool with the campaign! Imagine if we got a new ‘chapter’ of the campaign every season?!? That would be amazing, especially with the season 3 twist that Wolff was the bad guy and Oz was the good guy. Fuck man, i hope they do something like that for the next game

As a cod zombies fan, I do love my story content in games, and it wasn't until you mentioned it there that I realised how much I've missed a proper campaign and story in 2042, like yea there's the intel and what not to read but that does fuck all to a story for me, you gotta have a mix of gameplay, cut scenes, intel, radios, etc. for the story, cause to me I've had little to no interest in the story, bar when they did the robots arc. Like I didn't even realise they were fighting for water until you mentioned it in your stream the othed day Squid 🤦‍♂️

I think the BF2042 behind the scene story is actually a great story that would have been a great campaign story with part of the campaign having the explosion for Exposure as part of the mission.

What would you keep and carry over to the next game, and what would you ditch never to be seen again? I'd keep the crossbar weapon menu, this is a great idea. I'd lose the Specialists, I don't want wise cracking personalities in a BF game. I want an anonymous soldier that is, after all, supposed to represent me in the game.

What a nice and positive summary for BF2042. 😊 Please, please DICE give us different uniforms for each side. Everyone running around in the same outfit is only confusion.

I'm grateful to DICE for at least polishing 2042 into a playable and fun experience. The toxicity over this game has been disgusting, and I think most of the extreme toxic players and commenters should take a look at their behaviour as It's not healthy (for them or anyone else). Regarding the future, personally I think they need to drop the 128 player element as it essentially forced the developers to lower the graphic quality and remove a lot of the much needed destruction. It was a very brave decision, but it simply added nothing to the experience.

Squid, Your amazing! The reason you are my favorite Battlefield content creator is because you make things fun with what you have. You express your issues and concerns with the game, but you keep things mature whiles having a blast with what is good. And over everything else, you interact and play with your community. I've had pretty rough days, and watching your videos and playing BF made them better. So thank you! BF2042 was really my first BF game I decided to stick with and dedicate to. I've played other BF games, but they where played for quick and easy fun here and there.This one though, was the first one at launch, I decided I wanted to keep playing. I'm sad to see content coming to an end for the game, but I'm looking forward to future videos you make, and the future game. I had a blast with 2042, completing every season, experiencing only in battlefield moments, and even getting the platinum!! I'll probably continue to play the game till the next games launch, and I think I'll dedicate myself to the next title too. People might say 2042 is the worst BF game. But it's for sure my favorite multiplayer pvp fps game!

The disparity between trailers and actual game could be that they show what the devs want and have passion for without EA pushing hot takes. It gets the board excited but during development the board side of the publisher starts demanding paths not in the direction the game originally was being made.

Look I am bf veteran over 20 years, I have loads of fun on bf2042 it's a good fun game and it only got slated because of toxic ppl and bad press simple. I will still play bf2042 as it's fun but I am so glad they are putting all there time in to a new bf 😊

I agree. It’s great that you can find fun in the games regardless of the state they’re in. I personally think whenever everybody collectively bitches about a game it’s just not what they as a collective group want but life isn’t fair. We don’t always get what we want. The best advice out of all of this that every gamer should take is enjoy what you have if you don’t move on. Yes, the developers should do their best to release a full game but with how many different studios have taken control of battlefield or other series throughout the years, it’s basically like restarting off of a formula that you’re not familiar with. I’m surprised they’re able to get the games out semi working.

Touché for sticking with this. Abandoned this a long time ago. After this and BF5, I will not be buying the next Battlefield unless it’s epic. I’ve been playing these since Bad Company 2 but no more.

People will start to appreciate 2042 when the next Battlefield game gets released because there will most likely be things that won't make their return in the next game. I appreciate that they tried their hardest to save the game and they did a decent job reviving the game and at least changing the reviews on Steam from negative to mixed that made me happy. I personally enjoyed playing 2042 from the beta all the way to season 7 although it was a let down for me kinda seeing it end like that but I appreciate what they did. Lastly, we wouldn't be here at this point today if it wasn't for you SQUiD. You did a great job and never gave up on the game and hyped us to return to the game and had a blast during those live streams etc. Thank you for everything you did for the community.

Innovation for innovations sake can be a costly mistake. Battlefield needs to do what battlefield does best and get back to basics.

I love this game now, but literally the worst thing about it and that pisses me off the most is the damage counter. Dont get why it takes more than 2 full burst fires from an AEK to kill someone.

I don't hate 2042. I find it quite an enjoyable game on the whole, but it doesn't quite have that classic Battlefield "feel". I guess some of the gadgets are just a bit too futuristic. That said, I used to love 2142, so what the hell am I talking about? 😅 Stay positive, keep making us laugh!

Lets hypothetically say that the new BF is what we´ve been asking for (destruction, classic class system, modern military with war-torn urban maps like bf3/4 etc), one of the most important things that they need to nail is the monetization imo. If they go with the live service model like in 2042 with silly skins, all that work to make an immersive bf3-like Battlefield is instantly gone, so the devs need to be really creative and come up with a different solution. I dont have a solution on hand, but I really, really hope the devs do (yes the devs, cause the ppl in suits will be fine with the current model :p). Personally I would rather pay a hefty price for a Premium version than having silly skins that ruin what would otherwise be an amazing game. Maybe put a lot of silly skins in the BR version and have the Premium model + some realistic military skins in the shop in the multiplayer version?

For me, Battlefield 4 was the pinnacle of the gameplay experience. Engaging campaign, map packs dropping all the time, immersive gameplay, 5-man squads, it had it all. Even the handling of the vehicles felt better in BF4, in 2042 they're either clunky or way too squirrelly. That said, whatever Dice & EA offer up next, I will NOT be pre-ordering, they fooled me once. Until I see that the next game is winning industry awards (like BF4 did) I'm not buying anything.
