The maps in BF4 are shit compared to its predecessor nor do they showcase destruction. Destruction hasn’t been a significant gameplay factor for BF since BC2. There's leaves and stuff drifting in the wind all over in Portal, and like no wind at all in BF3 wtf are you talking about? Portal also has like 5x as many trees.

While the new Frostbite engine looks better, BF 2042 feels phoned in a bit. For the first time since BF3, COD has better sound FX than BF does! To rub salt into the wound, Halo Infinite sounds much better than BF & at least on par, if not better than BF2042. I like Halo Infinite much more than BF2042 that I paid $60 for 2042. 2042 does have great potential though with portal, but then Halo Infinite has good potential as well.

@@Sithtiger What are you on? CoD has shit sound, even a side by side CoD weapons sound like plastic. There is no resonance. There's no echo from any size of building or materials. There's no atmospheric sounds for anything happening anywhere. Vanguard is still weaker than BF3 lmao... and pretty sure Halo is intentionally meant to sound like plastic, but it has none of those basic sound effects either.

we will see more and more games making iterative improvements to graphical fidelity than the leaps and bounds of years pass primarily due to polygon count increases causing diminishing returns at these quantities. lighting and destruction including soft-body destruction or even just interactivity in general may be where we see the final leaps happen but even then, traditional methods of all of these still work quite well

@@Jonas-ej7id I don't think it's an outright downgrade, but some of the attention to detail was sacrificed to achieve scale. Either way there's very little room to improve left starting with BF1. DICE have been mostly changing art styles since then

@@francomathey7514 There were some really spooky sounds, Like that ‘horn blast’ at the airport I’ll never get out of my head. And the echoing rifle reports made the map feel huge in the open spaces.

Despite that "Going Hunting" has nothing to do with the plot of the game, the mission itself is fucking stunning in how good it looks after 10 years. Can say the same about most other missions too. And multiplayer maps, obviously

Portal are a downgrade in terms of graphic from the base game. So it's obvious why it's not better than the original games

I wouldn't say it's incredible graphically. Technically it wasn't much special even for the time, but they absolutely nailed the aesthetics and in motion it held up really well. Many old games are like that. Crysis and Half Life 2 are some of the most notable ones.

DICE just needed to do a remastered version of it and we would of been extremely happy

Movement was really ruined in bf4,people think bf4 and bf3 were the same game but that couldnt be further from the truth. Bf3 overall had the best movement for both infantry and vehicles out of any bf game imo,vehicle physics and collisions were also much more consistent than later bf games. Bf4 took a massive shit on all that,completely ruining the fluidity and snapiness of the movement and making it feel worse than a bad console port. The bf games never quite recovered since than,they all use the same engine bf4 used and more or less the same movement system(granted bf5 did do some nice changes to undo some of the garbage bf4 movement mechanics ,but still not enough to be any where near as good as bf3 movement.Bf2042 is actually a step down even compared to bf5,sure the faster sprint mechanic aint bad,but overall feel of the movement is still worse than bf5,nvm comparing it to bf3)

Visibility on 2042 is way better than the smear of gray across your screen in BF3. Almost like smearing vaseline on glasses and then wearing those vaseline smeared glasses into battle. Horrid.

I hope so. Because if they abandon it after a year like BFV I'll be pretty pissed but not surprised. After all it isn't the same Dice that we knew from BFV or BF1, not least to say BF4 and BF3. And with EA and Dice higher ups calling shots they may just cut their losses if there's too much work to be done. If this is their mentality then they'll probably just try to get the game in working order, maybe give it one or two content drops (not talking about the battle pass shite but more so maps/dlc like content) and then dump it. I hope I'm 100% wrong but this is EA we're talking about after all. They believe in immediate profit out the gate or at least a large enough player base to milk through transactions. If there's no sign of either they will pull the plug.

The Marine still use venom and viper this change doesn't make sense and Marine doesn't use Apache as their attack helicopter

they changed it cause of licensing issue. Fun fact, the UH-1Y Venom is still in service to this day.

Marines and army use different vehicles, Marines actually used the Viper and Venom(at the time at least.)
