This one time we (me and my American friend) were playing as the EU on Camp Gibraltar, to the north of the map. The PAC, as usual, bypassed the frontline and started capturing all of the flags behind us. Me and my friend kept trying to get ourselves killed, by storming the uncap PAC flag, so we that could respawn down south without committing suicide, rather than make the long trek down there. However, we apparently didn't get killed by storming the uncap multiple times, and we were then on our own at the PAC's uncap flag, to the far north. Our team had failed to halt the PAC from capturing all of the flags behind us, and we soon realised, after clearing out the run ashore boat to the far north, that we were the only two left. We decided to stay and hold there, the PAC only had 39 tickets left and we had 80. This was a no-commander, infantry-only map, so it took a minute or two for the PAC team to realise that hunting around for two players was stupid, and temporarily bypassed the no-commander rule. They then figured out where we were via a SatTrack support (spot all enemies on the map temporarily), and most committed suicide so that they could get to us faster. This left them with only 24 tickets left (20v20, 5 PAC players decided against committing suicide). My American friend was going hysterical over Ventrilo "OH GOD, THEY'RE COMING! *Hysterical laughter* JIN, THEY'RE COMING! THIS IS - OHHH MAAAN!" I was a medic, he was a support. By the time we started to spot them converging upon us in the sandy mist, we had already healed and re-supplied. We fought like devils, using every available trick, tactic, weapon, piece of equipment etc. This was causing an uproar on the comment window - dead EU team members were spamming "stay alive!", "check the east theres a sniper", "if you live then your god as far as im concerned". Still alive PAC members were typing stuff like "stop fucking dying we only have 14 tickets left", "STOP FIGHTING THEM! WE CAN BLEED THEM OUT!", "just give up the games over". Eventually they came to 6 tickets, and it was getting super tense, the comment window blowing up with lol's - there was a slim possibility that we could win this. Unfortunately, I got incapacitated by a couple of PK rockets, and my American friend was too busy in CQC with a PAC recon dude to have the 15 seconds to spare in order to revive me (picking up my medic kit, equipping defib, charging me). So, after he killed that PAC recon, they had 5 tickets left. Most of the PAC team, I observed through battlerecorder (a replay I downloaded after the match ended), by this point, followed the other 5 PAC team member's advice (the ones who didn't commit suicide) and stayed at the flags rather than waste those precious tickets on us, and decided to wait until we bled out. He managed to wade them down to only 2 tickets (killed a few snipers with the PAC recon kit he picked up) before our own tickets bled dry. Even though we lost, that was still one of the best 2142 moments I ever had. If they all hadn't just decided to let our tickets bleed, I bet we could have won, especially since my friend deployed a few of his PAC recon kit's APM mines around the ladders to the boat.

Ah the Camp Gibraltar song, from the mechs and drop pods to the arty and kill zones via the over watch towers. This map was a grind and a blessing.

This was my fav map in the game, i loved sneaking on the shore trying to find and kill the opposing commander

Forget Metro and Locker. This was the primo meat grinder of Battlefield. Lots of little side passages and plenty of verticality offered by the multi-level structures to keep things interesting.

Karkand of 2142

I can almost imagine a movie.. this is a refugee entrance to Africa.. first the song starts calmly.. with a dramatic tone.. as the refugees are entering, all packed passing through the gates with their few belongings, as the few EU soldiers keep order. Then suddenly PAC ships are sighted, and the whole crowd starts to flee "They stole our homelands and now they come after us why?" and the EU garrison is scrambled to position to prepare for the incoming bloodshed...

One of my favorite maps in 2142, this and Cerbere Landing. Infantry only + 64 players = Intense mayhem.

Well for one the titan mode was the most original mode in a long time and its all in a sci fi setting that does not include super soldiers or energy shields,just grunts.The world could benefit from another game like this that did not focus on "the realistic and gritty modern battlefield" but "a gritty realistic future battlefield"

2143 for the love of God. On Frostbite 2. It will be a breath of fresh air and show off something DICE is amazing at: practical/believable/realistic future warfare which no one really touches. They have nothing holding them back except their creative minds (and they're very creative). I will pay for a LARGE DLC/Expansion pack but I'd also pay for a full retail of 2143. PLEASE. The possibilities are endless!

@Gerojsk This definitely isn't Hans Zimmer, though he is a legendary composer. The composer for the Battlefield 2142 Soundtrack was Gregor Narholz.

It's not really do big, but on a crate (a kinda small-ish white one next to the airfield in Wake Island) there is written 2143. Nothing to crazy, but then there is also "The Welder" in Gulf of Oman. I think he's working on a Mech, but nothing is to distinct...

@kojm168 That's what I liked about it. They made a realistic future. Not a future in which we advanced a 1000 years or something. And it's not a Middle Eastern war fighting terrorist either like all the other games.

2143? Just like the "ant attack" on the newspaper in the first level of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. That led up to The Last of Us. They're DEFINITELY making 2143 if they put that in there! 2142 never got the attention and praise it so rightfully deserved, I hope they make it similar and improve it for consoles and PCs alike so that we can all enjoy it! Thanks for sharing!

anyway the feeling of playing in team was cool,one day it was that map,dont remember the name now,it was a church ^^ well we all were there while we were attacked from outside,(btw is not the church from verdum) and in that moment we were playing as a team ^^ that was cool:) we had ammo and health boxes on the ground,and we killed them:)

After bf2142... imho DICE went into the wrong direction with the battlefield series... it's less and less about teamplay like in bf2142 and bf2...

@H0s0n With only intel reports to refer to a movie for BF2142 would be amazing with a good director. If this was made into a movie it might end the tradition of movies based on games sucking.

@Berstich So true... So sadly true. DICE will be EA's bitch until EA will one day go bankrupt. I would love to see DICE go under Activision's or Ubisoft's wing. Valve would be amazing but I'm pretty sure they're not a publisher. Maybe when EA finally goes bankrupt from fucking up their customers so bad games can finally have full freedom
