What happened?

@@Worjestershire 2014 happened. I played this game on-and-off during my High School years 2011-2015, even then for nostalgia. Then when I tried to play it again late 2014 or early 2015 I found out that GameSpy was shut down and practically all old EA games with it. It was a blow to my heart, I still remember thinking "why". I didn't know the last time I played this game in 2013 would truly be my last.

and maybe the best battlefield game.

redberries I’ve played nearly every battlefield game Or so I’ve thought. The Battlefields before BF1/5 and after BF1942 are rarely ever mentioned or talked about. I’ve played BF1, BF5, BF Vietnam, BF1942 (and BF1942 DLC like Road to Rome and Secret Weapons of WW2). I’ve heard of BF1943, BF2, BF3, and BF4 but never knew of BF2142, Bad Company, BC2, and the rest

play last stand on bf4 (you will not be sorry) and if you put 1 and 1 together.. one will figure out that .. 2142 will be back!

Lallå Changeapolski I played and it brought the feelings back. :) But the mechanics of 2142 the 2142 feeling will never come back again. It was the game that I achieved the most in competetieve scene. Well. I hope they don't screw up next 2142 like game or else I'll kill them. It was the best BF in my opinion. A lot of people hated it but I loved it.

Piotr Pajewski Yeah, all it needs is updated graphics and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat even if it had all the same maps and gameplay. Nothing else touches it.

Ice caps melting leads to higher sea levels which leads to changes in water currents. This leads to an ice age starting.

@@darkcorsair247 the last expansion pack/dlc uses certain Bf2142 stuff for backgroun like the hovercraft, the hover tank, the controlled drones or the railgun rifle, plus some other side content like the mech instalation (map)

nothing ever was said about any campaing related to 2142, what you see is just a developed setting introduction as was the first on the series not being based on an already known conflict, but rather creating a new one.

Any chance you remember who we was meant to play in the campaign? Or general story of what you guys were trying to build for us?

Well, think about BF4 and how buggy it was during launch, and they had 2 years to make it..thinka about the bug ridden piece of prealpha filth that comes out every year from now on

Umar Farooq Doesent have anything to do with the fact that bf4 was very buggy when released, and my PC has 2GB of VRAM.

I heard some where that its actually a Prequel to this as 2042 is connected to BF4. Basically the timeline goes like this 2020= PAC (an Alliance between China, Russia, Japan and a number of other "Asian" countries) is established possibly covertly. 2042= Climate change worsens causing the desolution of the EU (due to Germany's collapse in the 2030s) and a war between the US and Russia. 2100s= EU reestablished US and Australia joins with the US being its major backer for a number of decades, PAC becomes more advanced than the EU, US stagnates 2142= the "Cold War "in Africa due to severe Climate change causing an Ice age.

Should be remade, at least after 2042. Hope the team considers this to reboot, or else it would be a waste of Battlefield gaming series. With better graphics engines,it will be an epic remake!

Yes, and the servers are very populated. There's about three, one is called "Last Refugee" and it's a 24/7 conquest server of a map called Camp Gabinlter I think, it's mostly infantry. The next is Deathklok, it's Titan, 48 slots, usually around 36 at least. The third has 100 slots, played it a few time but have ping issues sometimes, pretty sure it's a Russian server, though I get about 170 here in Florida(US), there's another three that I don't play on, as they have too high ping or something for me, but they're all populated too. People still play this game 24/7, including me, it's a very dedicated community. But everyone has all the unlocks and knows a lot of the exploits, Admins are always online, and people are usually willing to help you learn the game. Just prepare to die a lot, it's very hard to do good when you start out, especially now.

rawr rawr yeah, i was in the Top 500-1000 players back in 2007-09, then my pc died and i stopped playing it, i came back on 11 and i was just DESTROYED, the ppl that kept playing became really skilled, but not much changed in mechanics tactics stategy and xploits since there was never a 1.52
