Bad news for those who are still playing some of the old Battlefield games, as EA has announced that Battlefield: Bad Company 1 and BC2, Battlefield 1943 and even Mirror’s Edge are all sunsetting (servers shutting down) this December 8, 2023!
But you will be able to play BFBC2 on non original servers!
Here is how. First register here:

I really, really hope EA still reverts this decision. I've emailed their support so many times and have tried so many different avenues for vocalizing that they shouldn't do this. Or at the very least that they should provide the community with the tools for hosting servers. Server hosts for BC2 have some sort of tools for hosting servers, they exist.

I’m right there with you, so much as to never supporting EA again after this. BC2 is my favorite shooter of all time right behind Halo 3. I’m devastated to say the least about the servers shutting down this December.

@@MadnessMan13 It's seriously a tragic loss. I wish EA cared more about preserving it for even the small community of people who still love it. We have to be vocal about it wherever we can. The more attention it gets, the more likely they may do the right thing... eventually.

I saw a tweet about the Venice Unleashed project Rome yesterday. I've the xbox game but obviously this won't work for that version. My question is do I have to download the pc game on Origin or can it be a standard download? I'd rather not pay again for the game if I can avoid it.

Thanks mate !! Just started my first playthrough of BC2 on my PC. I was level 50 on PS, so is there anyway to unlock all weapons. I see a lot of level 50s in the game, did they transfer their PC data !?

@@Solidus155 Fair point BUT you wouldn't destroy a picture of a loved member of the family after 13 years would you? Doesn't matter to me as Im an old 62 year old gamer who never played the game much outside of family, but for young gamers that cherished the game through their adolescence I feel it should be preserved through an app that allows players to continue playing online after the servers have shut down.....many games do this anyway as a matter of design, etc...

The new Battlefield games are such trash compared to BC2. Console ports for kiddies, clunky gameplay, crap graphics, rubbish menus, yuk yuk yuk
