Although virtual characters had been used since around 2010, we didn't know vtubers the way we know them (livestreaming with chat interaction) until long after Kizuna had appeared, and Kizuna Ai started in 2016, which was after this episode aired if I'm not mistaken. I remember dreaming that they could somehow used live rigs of their own characters in a webcam, but this was before software was available for such things. Now you can even make a simple one as a Snap Camera filter, but they aren't the kind to bother lol. Plus they wouldn't go all the way with it and have each have their own character, they'd do one at a time. They have messed around with FaceRig in the past, and even more recently, with Neebs using a hamburger avatar to give us the news 😂

Actually, even then, everyone and their mother were starting to be a streamer. It was blowing up at the time, and that's why the commentary of people being paid to play video games, same as with the KZfaq episode.

To be fair, back when this episode came out, I suggested to them to do what is now known as a vtuber setup, I just didn't know it would become a thing. It was far more difficult to set up back then tho, but if they had, they would have been pioneers long before the Japanese vtubers blew up. It is much easier now, and they could commission someone to make them the rigs, though I think they could do it themselves, but they won't do it lol.

lol so the viewer names in this episode were amalgamations of the names of regular Twitch viewers from back when this episode was made, and the facecam question was something they would get asked A LOT about back in the day. Now people seem to live with the fact they won't show their face in livestreams, though they've had a couple webcam slip ups, which are among their most viewed clips. I don't know why the obsession when their faces are a web search away, but it is what it is.

I just realized, Noob is probably in the actually military, isn't he? I mean, we only see these characters in their 'video game avatars' however, Noob gave a face cam while in an actual uniform. For a moment, lets pretend he isn't 'in character' but in his actual B.U. (battle uniform) issued to service members. This means, Noob isn't playing to be a 'gamer' he's playing to actually relax and work out stress, and if I remember correctly, battlefield is actually used for military personnel who have P.T.S.D. so there's that we now have to place into our minds. There's a good chance that Noob has war induced P.T.S.D. and as I have family who have or is serving, how Noob interacts with a lot of the other players, is similar to how one of my younger brothers military buddies act while playing video games, they're just having fun and want to forget the world for a bit. Battlefield is actual a great way of doing that as there is no 'bang, you're dead' or 'Geneva convention' to follow or 'U.M.C.J.' (Uniformed code of military Justice) to worry about, there's just people playing a game a having a good time doing it. This is probably why he was wanting to kill people with an icicle in the last video, becuase doing that in 'real life' would get him arrested, however, doing that in 'real life' and in a 'real' combat situation, would have him in front of a military court and have a far harsher sentence then compared to a civilian one.

He has mentioned this to Simon before, I think it was a very early Ark episode, can't remember the episode, but do remember the conversation (not word for word); Simon; "Well....I actually did something today." Dora; "Really Simon?" "Yes, I built this.....thing, while you were lazy." "Oh, yeah, 'lazy' that's why I did a tour in the Marines and construction for a bit." "OH! So.....you built this?" "Yeah, but I meant, you know, in 'real' life, but you know, 'lazy'." But what I said about Noob, I meant the fictional universe.

if anyone remember there was a goof/mistake/error look at recon he has UMP. I know you can pick up the gun and your playermodel still remain recon if you stay alive I don't know how the animators didn't noticed that, the only way to fix the error if recon and engineer's guns were swapped to make it accurate in bf4
