I’m highly disappointed that 2042 isn’t a continuation of the Final Stand DLC. I mean that DLC was literally set in the future, not too distant future, and had outstanding map design plus cool equipment.

Devs confirmed final stand is no longer canon in the world of Battlefield. That's why 2042 is a more grounded/realistic take on the future

@@currahee1782 It was some time ago on Twitter. Dev basically responded to somebody saying that they made final stand waaay too futuristic so it wasn't canon. You can find more recent conversations about it on Reddit.

Besides the Russian hover tank everything in Final Stand was plausible or could be explained like the titan and the mech walker. Some of the operators have tech more advanced than anything in Final Stand. The only point I'm trying to prove here is DICE lost touch before the release of BFV.

@@tufcat92 bullshit, there's just as many people who will tell you DICE lost their touch after BF2. Im glad they scrapped final stand and went with a far more believable near future setting. We will likely see another more believable final stand like season towards the end of the games lifecycle or maybe 2142 itself will be thrown into portal

When it was released, it used to flip helis upside down and completely fuck up jets even though it did like 20% damage per shot. It was basically a one shot kill to an air vehicle. That's the joke behind this one.

@@RogerNbr It still does 110 damage to a player and has 50 damage blast. It's a one hit kill if you hit the target and not just splash them.
