The part when German soldier get crush by a Saint-Chamond tank, it makes me speechless about it. It's like watching some people getting eating by a brutally monster. The movie is truly show the horror about the war.

Most people who said they didn't want single player thought that would mean that the multiplayer portion of the game would get more resources and therefore be better. What they don't realize is that cutting out single player doesn't mean the people who otherwise would have worked on that would be put onto multiplayer. Those people will probably just be put on a different project while the multiplayer team and resources will probably be the same. Lossy made a good point about this when he spoke with a former developer who explained it like that.

I think having a campaign gives direction to multiplayer sometimes even purpose. A story opens up a whole new world the devs can build on

BF1 was still alive before all quiet on the western front as well, it was great as an active player to see so many people come back to or trying out the game finally... One of the best games ever 🤷‍♂️

I think the lack of a single player also made the game worse in that the initial reveal trailer could only use footage from the multiplayer. Think about it: There weren't any over-the-top "wow" moments like in a story trailer that piqued the curiosity of new players. Instead, it was just any other shooter. Both in the overall marketing effectiveness, which then brought lower initial sales figures and fewer players, as well as in the design of the multiplayer maps and specialists in the MP core gameplay, which then had to be used instead for that purpose. So the multiplayer part had to replace the singleplayer campaign while remaining a good multiplayer, and failed spectacularly at both simultaneously.

It's amazing how bf1 is still so popular. It is easily the best bf ever made. Also I have played on ps and xbox and the random bullet deviation is a lot more common on ps than xbox

So I have a question when I try to play bf1 on my xbox account it doesn't work it will only load me into empty servers and when I go to the server lists it just has only one game mode and 0/32 players for every single one I recently was gifted a series S for my 15th birthday but I still have the same problem if anyone knows how to fix it please give me some advice bf1 is one of my all time favorite games and I haven't been able to play in around a year

BF1 was my first Battlefield and it was an absolute spectacle in the FPS genre. It put COD and all the other shooters to shame with its sound design, grittiness, atmosphere, soundtrack, and most of the maps were actually good with only a handful I wasn't a fan of. Battlefield will never peak again like they did with 1.

I have not seen the new All Quite on the Western Front movie yet but I really want to because I have heard nothing but good things about it.

if you separate PC vs Console players you end up in games w/ 60% + bots if you are on console. I had to turn on "cross play" just to find real people to play against.

what i recently noticed is that playing the campaign back in bf3 or bf4 gave you a way better feeling for the world and the setting of the game. in bf2042 i feel no connection to the maps there there is just a thin storyline of the world beeing in chaos and you get no background informations even the specialists (beside irish) are completely random goofy characters that dont even fit into the actually dark scenario
