I believe that most BF fans will buy the game mainly because of Portal. From what I have gathered so far, the main game is pretty mediocre with huge and rather lifeless looking maps that barely have any flow and a specialist system that doesn't mix well with the BF formula. It has been designed to convey a BR or BR like feeling first and foremost, which is a big mistake imo and the exact opposite of a "love letter" to BF fans. And now let me post a random emoji: 🧐

Though they’ve done a lot of questionable things with their new title, the portal is by far one of the best ideas. And if built on can be such a great thing for all battlefield players.

Yep. I kind of hate 2042 proper. However portal has been a lot of fun. Playing 1942 maps with BF3 rules and settings is awesome.

I just wish portal had some sort of progression, feels more like going back to titles that you have already unlocked everything in and you have fun for a while but there’s nothing to unlock lol. Right now it’s just a rank number, no rank icon or anything lmao. Also pretty sure they’ve already nerfed portal xp gain due to half of the servers being xp farms lol

BF 1942 Classic looks like a lot of fun! so many memories. remember, there was no building destruction, and the sniper rifles require to be still for accurate shots, very hard to do scoped shots while moving.

The antitank class even feels like it has the original capsule drop! Everything is the same except the graphics, so amazing that Dice gave the players what they wanted.

the best thing about bc2 was the soldiers would yell out things, and you could tell by their accent if it was a friendly or not and locate them based on it..

Dude, troops voiceover work for bf3 was on another level, I love hearing callouts and other squads situation along the match. That added so much immersion to these matches.

Battle of the Bulge was one of my favourite maps, and that was beautiful to watch.

its nice to see the remastered 1942 maps, El Alamein is well done although it seems to be missing the 2 small villages on the far edge of the map. The battle of the buldge map is a bit too flat compared to it on 1942 for example the outpost accros the bridge from the windmill had a cliff overlooking it, which was a great advantage when attacking from St Vith; or coming from axis spawn to the windmill, the windmill was set higher ontop of a steeper hill.

yeah exactly. I had fun on it but afterwards I was like I think had more/steeper hills. Another thing that changes how the map plays is the original 1942 had a ~400m draw distance and everything beyond that was fog of war. It plays different when you can see everything across the entire map. Squad spawning changes it as well. Was none of that in the original.

Two Jack's in a very big time machine box like that dorito commercial. Nostalgic as heck, I remember flying around the map Berlin in 1942 and glitching out of the map to get a flying motorbike with the sidecar and a class (backpack/satchel) that was outside the map that would act like a jetpack. Battlefield 3 there was a desert map where I accidentally found a wall glitch by having to do certain things to fall through the floor...

37:56 - The trick for Arica Harbour, defending side, would be to place the T-90A tank where the blueberry is due north. That's what I did everytime and majority of the time.. won.

Played a few games of 2042, didn’t feel great. Hopped on bf3 portal and the nostalgia was unreal. I swear I literally unlocked lost childhood memories, the first game on caspian border in the attack heli with a pilot who I didn’t know but was communicating with me perfectly 25-2 in 2 runs in the heli. Can’t get over the DU DU DUHH DUHH DUHHH intro from Bf3!!

IF YOUR ON XBOX YOU CAN DISABLE TEXT CHAT. Go to Xbox settings and same place you go to for disabling cross play. Then you can enjoy the game without watching a bunch of spoiled kids complain.

@8:29 the game was actually called Codename Eagle, and the netcode was horrible even in LAN. But what a great game it was back in the day.

Valparaiso and Arica Harbor are the best maps! They play perfectly in rush and conquest! What other maps can you say that about?

Tbh all the bugs are making for more hilarious moments than frustrating ones. My friends and I are loving the game so far 😂

Turn on Future Frame Rendering. Thats how I had to play BFV too. Frame rates dropping randomly all the time till I turned that on

I joined a game of 1942 that was getting absolutely demolished 😂 enemies had 700 tickets opposed to our 80 😂 never played 1942, so it wasn’t a very good first impression 😂

Found out a couple weeks ago m1 Abrahams tanks are powered by turbines hence why they sound electric
