OK... Now I'm a little worried that my next playthrough is going to be pretty hairy. Hopefully my favorite tactic of loading a single nuke on a Manticore and practically sending it on a suicide run toward the Cylon fleet right at the beginning of a battle will still work. I've got to take that mother out early! I think it will be worth the trade off. Yes, I'm a bit of an Admiral Cain when I play. ;) I even sometimes use ramming as a viable tactic if I've got the hull/armor points and the situation presents itself. :)

I love your break downs of colonial and Cylon warships and of course other series. keep it up man you're far more entertaining than trek yards imo.

It would make more sense to have mobile weapons manufacturing ship dedicated just to manufaturing vs making it a warship/factory. The crews don't come out of a manufacturing plant so they'll have to replace their losses at some point which means resupply ships. They can send missiles along with the food stuffs as easily as they can send pilots and mechanics.

The Guardian Basestar was added into the game from the modern ships pack. The Guardian Basestar has ( Augury which allows to detect one unknown enemy ship, two fighter bays and a utility craft slot, can take two ordnance slots but cannot reload like the Argos and lastly the top Y shape carries heavy artillery guns.) The Guardian Basestar has different functions than the Argos Basestar.

@@UnicornGamingRX03 Yes, it is quite powerful, even superior to the much larger standard Basestar in terms of armaments and durability. When I made that post 5 years ago, the modern ships pack hadn't yet released. The Guardian Basestar is basically a baby Argos lol. A baby Argos that is infinitely more useful than the Argos.

Still wouldn't really say that. There's always at least one Artemis in my fleets and with the exception of the Revenant class everything the cylons have thrown at me was nothing more than an annoyance

@@robloxfanboy86 quick question, how quickly do the cylons raiders deploy from basestars hangers? do they do it the moment you get close? Or is there a window of time before they deploy?

@Brett-uq4tz i havent played in a while but i think they deploy on the first turn, if you want to pick them off it might be worth it to keep your fleet far away in the beginning of the battle and take down any fighters that get near

@@robloxfanboy86 I was more asking that question because I thought that if the raiders didn't launch right away then I could destroy the hanger before they ever got the chance to launch from it.

Well since the game is based on the first Cylon war you won't see any V-Stars or V3's.

anubis408 I would definitely play around in skirmish mode until you get better at the controls. The UI can be a bit clunky and odd. In skirmish mode you won't have to worry about loosing resources if you mess something up. Experiment and try different things

@@Brett-uq4tz The Argos biggest weakness is a lack of guns(firepower). But it is doesn't do well against fighter wings(smaller fighters can overwhelm them or distance it long enough for your main ships to get a shot off at it).

FrostWolfPack To be fair, Colonial weapons were usually shown to be on par with Cylon weapons (if not stronger, Galactica can wreck shop with multiple basestars 40 years later.) The problem is twofold: Human technological progress led to the Cylons and the war, which sucked for obvious reasons. This, in turn, contributed to what could be called a "reasonable phobia" of new technology. You make developments, sure. But how many developments can you make when you can't network your computers, or have complicated systems on board your ship? And would you want to if it could cause another Cylon uprising?

It seems that they were very much willing to develop advanced weapons, they just took precautions against computer technology, as that was what lead to the Cylons. You can see that the Galactica and Pegasus have armour that can tank nukes, While Cylon basestars crumple under cannon salvos from an outdated ship like the Galactica. It was even shown that once the Galactica had Cylon computer tech installed that it's effective jumprange dramatically increased, showing that the Colonials were only limited by their computer tech. I believe one of the producers of the show even went on to say that current day computers were better than the ones the Colonials had.

Jason Teeple 3 new warships & 1 support ship for both Colonials and Cylons. For Colonies there is a Talon equivalent, a new missile cruiser (more volleys, but no fast reload), and another light battlestar. For Cylons there is a jump hacker, Argos and something else (didn't remember).

They didn't it's the colonial designation for it. Cylons are numbered kinda like borg!

wrectum terror There was a really good episode in BSG that emphasizes how more advanced the Cylon FTL drives are to the colonials. Something like 3x the distance and it can jump consecutively like when the Hybrid freaked out. And they can compact the drives to fit in a Raider. And their ships can self-repair overtime by “regrowing” structural damage. Not to mention their cyber warfare was so advanced in the first war the Colonials stopped using computers on their ships. Basestars are larger than Battlestars and carry a much larger compliment of light and heavy fighters. But the most advantageous thing: the Basestar is in itself “alive” and is fully capable of autonomous decisions for self preservation without commands from its crew. That’s pretty fucking impressive.
