You're missing the best part - when Gaeta and Zarek take control and tell her to surrender. She's on the Cylon baseship and say, "No. Not now, not ever. You hear me? I will use every bomb..." etc. That was the most epic speech.

It would have been a good speech if it didn’t feel like it written poorly during the writer strike. She acted it out amazingly, but even when I was in high school(whenthis was released), I thought it was either poorly written or poorly structured. Had the writers demands been met sooner we would have had a much more cohesive narrative for the last season, and iconic speeches like the one you refer to would be even more impactful

I don't know why people are more mixed on her compared to Adama or the other characters' questionable decisions; she was meant to hold together humanity in a way that no soldier could or should - and by and large, she did.

My favorite character of this magnificent show ! Let's not talk about Mary McDonnell this amazing actress, it'll take me too long ! But Laura Roslin ... what a President ! She was so human but was trying so hard to be the best president for her people, she took hard decisions that's for sur. Come on Laura Roslin and Bill Adama : SPACE PARENTS !

All the characters had their "evils". Laura was a civilian dictator. She redeemed herself at the very end. I like this journey of hers.

I didn't liked the personnality of this character but Laura Roslin was still a very good character and very good acting.

Same here. The character was competent at administration and leadership, but she was completely ignorant of war and when she needs to make hard decisions, she chooses the wrong decision.

@@ktmac8 The decisions people make define their personality as far as I'm concerned. Mind you I tend to have a more objective view on things and less of an emotional view. Other people tend to see people by their insignificant traits like whether they're happy or friendly or grumpy etc.

I love her at the beginning and through most of the third season, but like everything else about this show the fourth season ruined her and I hated her by the end of the show. Though, her death in Bill's arms did get to me.

@@ktmac8 Yeah I don't understand the number of BSG fans who seem to hate her. And other characters too; Lee, Starbuck. I put it down to a general degradation and radicalisation of commenters online which has been ongoing for years as a result of the right wing's online culture wars, as well as a preexisting prevalence of sexism and lower than average empathy and emotional intelligence among sci-fi fans in general.

About some things yes, but he was also right about some things. True, without him the cylons might not have been able to kickstart the second war, but he was also instrumental in getting everyone to Earth.
