2024大宝森节于1月24-26号在黑风洞隆重举行。信徒们蜂拥而至，有的剃头，头顶奶锅，作法事，用银针穿舌头或脸颊，背着沉重的kavadi爬上272阶梯等等，为的是向印度教战神Lord Murugan致敬！场面浩大，犹如嘉年华！
Thaipusam 2024 falls on 25th Jan. The celebration started few days ahead in Batu Caves. Devotees from all over the world thronged the Hindu shrine to pay respect to Lord Murugan, the God of War. Some shaved their heads, some carried heavy kavadi to climb up the 272 steps staircase to reach the shrine. Some pierced their tongue, cheeks, or backs. It's an eye opening ceremony that you shoud come once in a life time to experience it!

Aloha ! This place brings back so many sweet memories. I was there many years ago - before they painted the colorful gazillion steps or installed the ginormous golden stature at the front. I still remember there were many monkeys in the cave and one them snatched the banana from my plastic bag. I thought it was very daring of it to do so. Thank you for sharing the awesome video.

我想基本上是除了信奉印度教会庆祝，有些其他宗教的（我是佛教徒）偶尔也会去参与。看到那么多虔诚的信徒，自己也觉得很感动。我们这里也有庆祝九王爷诞！也是有穿针的。你到底是哪里人呀？😄

兴都教和道教是有许多相似之处的，穿针过火炭祭拜方式等等。华人也绝非九王爷还是福建人独有。

Depends on the festival. They would have already prayed to Lord Muruga asking for some boon to be fulfilled & in gratitude for the boon, they end up with such piercings.
