perfect timing on this video. I'm doing rust repair on an old 914 and have been thinking about getting one of those types of sanders. Thanks for the "heads up"

Definitely a useful tool in the body shop I’ve used the 3m version for a while now ,not only good for dressing welds I also use it to remove spot welds way faster than a drill they also make a smaller version

Some manufacturer make a 3/4" x21" version that has a bigger air motor. Works really good like the 1)2" version you showed. They are a real useful tool for hard to reach areas.
@robertwalker39724 ай бұрын
I just picked one of these up from the pawnshop the other day and I work with wood and man. That thing works great. The one I got seems to use a lot of air but I have a small air compressor so maybe that’s the reason it keeps kicking it on

I picked mine up for $40 and I went to Home Depot and bought some 3 x 18 belts for a bigger belt sander and I just cut strips and use it and it worked great

That Baxter is an awesome tool! So is their geared sander and the inline sander going to buy a second inline cause I like it so much and then I'll have two setup with different grits.
@DGRetroCustoms3 жыл бұрын
awesome tool I use mine all the time for tight spaces, dont buy cheap belts though as the literally last seconds
@jsh32343 жыл бұрын
Hey guys. To save yourselves some money on belts, just buy either a 3 or 3&1/2" wide belt in whatever length belt that matches your sander and then just cut it to the proper width that is needed. Alot cheaper that way.
@jameslund2212 жыл бұрын
I hit the subscription button . Thanks for the video. I think you can get these new at harbor freight for $90 , even cheaper if you find it on sale. I don’t think they carry the more abrasive sanding belts though. Thanks 🙏

@lcar98713 жыл бұрын
Nice sander. I know u like quality abrasives. The 3M Cubitron II belts are very good but CAUTION about the 36 grit. Maybe I got a bad box but I find the 36 grit comes off the belt too easily. I think it can't handle that real tight radius at the end of the sander. The 60 grit wears properly and removes metal fast too

I want a little belt sander. But I don’t like using air in my current situation. So I seen you can get them that attach on grinders. Then saw a guy make his own DIY on KZfaq. So think that will be another little side project when I have time. But that is easy to change.

This may be a stupid question but how do you think this would work for cleaning the inside of a trailer hitch receiver? My problem is that the inside rusted a bit on me causing it that my ball & mount doesn't go in all the way and I am looking for a way to clean it out nicely. Also, I can't find a measurement on the thickness of the "blade" part of it that the sanding belt is on, my receiver is 2" square, will this fit inside of it? TYVM for your time and for the video.
@OutlawEdge2 жыл бұрын
That would work awesome for the inside of a trailer hitch 👍👍👍
@kovuk92 жыл бұрын
@@OutlawEdge AWESOME, TYVM for the fast reply, I have been racking my brain trying to find or think of a way to grind or sand down the inside that has rusted and swelled slightly causing my hitch to not go in. this will save me from having to purchase and install a whole new receiver
@kovuk92 жыл бұрын
@@OutlawEdge so, I did in fact go and buy that exact sander that you did a review on and OMG, it cleaned the inside of that receiver in no time at all. I did however use a cheap endoscope to look inside of the receiver to get more of a closeup where I had to clean out. Took about a half an out and I was done. Thanks again, greatly appreciated.

That’s so awesome I’m glad it worked. That is a really really good tool for doing stuff like that. A buddy of mine actually told me about it and when I picked it up and tried it out for the first time I fell in love with it and now it’s one of my most used tools in the shop. Thanks again for all your support on my channel and the nice comments it means a lot. Hope you had a good Fourth of July stay safe. Arco
