Bay Breeze (Builder's Square, Sheng Yuan/Alaska) 52" ceiling fan in brushed nickel. This is another ceiling fan that I pulled out of the trash during Cleanup Week 2017. When I first saw this thing, I thought it was a piece of junk that I'd probably donate or part out. However, when I got it home, I noticed through the top that it had the signature Sheng Yuan cast motor. Then I flipped it over and saw the AMAZING modern-90s blade stencil, and knew this was a keeper. It was originally flush mounted, and must've had some sort of light kit installed as the switch cap was missing. I prefer downrod mount and had one that matched basically perfectly, and was able to utilize a Hampton Bay switch cap which also matches the finish really well. It's a pretty great fan, good air movement and pretty quiet. Bearings are FLAWLESS, absolutely silent and super smooth as you can see by the spindown time. Absolutely another of my favorite finds for this year, just so totally spot on with my aesthetic.
Also, side note. I'm playing around with new lighting to illuminate the fan from below, and this is my first video utilizing it. I welcome your feedback, whether you think it's simply better, or too harsh, or not enough. Whatever you think. I think it looks pretty good, certainly better than it has been since I moved into this space, but I always want to cater to the viewer. This also might not have been the greatest fan to experiment on for the first try either, since it's kinda all reflective and has some dark components. I'd love to hear what you think in all of my upcoming videos, keep the feedback coming so that I can continue to fine tune.

There's a Builders Square commercial posted on here where they use one of these fans to talk about the use of ceiling fans in winter

That spin down time is insane. In my high school one of my history classes had an industrial ceiling fan. I kid you not that thing took over 7 minutes to stop. I actually timed it one day, never seen anything like it. Fan was a piece of crap cheap fan that shook really badly on high too. At least it was quiet.

A number of early TATs and TAT-made Canarms with the heavy curved blades have some of the longest spindown times I've ever experienced, likely in that same 7 minute range or longer.

Love the light set up but when you have a fan with reflective blades here's a tip unscrew the one blub that reflects light on the blades.

I mean, that's something we might just have to deal with. The track lights are what they are, I might move that one Edison bulb pendant because it seems to be a constant reflection issue, but otherwise I'm not messing with them every time I do a video. I also don't want just random unscrewed bulbs in the background, that'd be weird.

I believe this was sold at Builders Square but I'm not 100% sure.

Description has that listed. Bay Breeze was the Builder's Square store brand.

Quick question... My Casablanca Panama 2 downrod is loose inside the ball thing that holds it to the ceiling. When turning the fan on the motor housing rotates from the torque of the motor and it wobbles like you wouldn't believe. It seems like the entire fan is loose as whenever you give it a miniscule push it will rock back and forth like a ball tied to a string. Any idea what may be going on? Blades are tight, so they shouldn't be causing any wobble.

I don't really have any specific idea of what the issue is. If it was fine before, I'd give everything a once-over to make sure things are tight and no mounting bits have worked loose. Slight torque is normal, full rotations of the housing are not. I'm not able to gauge where you're at in that regard. There are a lot of claims that loose set screws and whatnot can cause wobble, which isn't entirely true. Those issues can enhance or make a wobble more apparent, but it always comes down to the balance of the blades more than anything. If wobble is another issue, you'll probably want to go through the works to balance it. Again, if it was fine before, I'd question whether it got hit or damaged in some other way.

Is it a copy of Casablanca California Zephyr?

IDK, are vents enough to say it's a copy? I wouldn't really call it a copy personally, but you do you.
